Cable Box troubles & Comcast
Ok...I have a Comcast HDTV cable box. Recently, the box keeps shutting on and off....which is REALLY annoying, especially since I'm trying to watch football. Does anyone know what cause this?????
The box basically will shut itself off, the turn on....but it does it every 5 minutes sometimes, then somtimes it will take longer.....
I have it plugged into a power strip, and all my other components that are plugged in to it, do NOT turn off....just the box flickers on & off.
Help...thanks

I'm guessing you have the Motorola 6208. Sounds like you simply have a bad box, I'd call Comcast and either have them deliver a new one for you, or go to their local station and swap it out yourself.
Rumor has it the 6412 will be coming out in a couple of weeks!

Well, the box has been working fine ever since I called....strange.
The guy did come out today, but said it was probably just the "update" they were doing. When they updated the on-screen Guide...oh well, things are good now. So hopefully that is it....maybe I can hold out until the NEW boxes come out
