DVD Talk review of 'Sister Princess:Vol 1 Oh Brother'
I read Chris Tribbey's DVD review of Sister Princess:Vol 1 Oh Brother at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=12949 and thought it was worth pointing out that Sister Princess is not shoujo as the review claims. The show's original basis is a manga that ran in Dengeki G magazine, a shounen manga anthology that focues almost entirely on bishoujo (pretty girls). Also available is a romance simulator game obviously aimed at guys, where you really do "put yourself in Wataru's shoes". Essentially, this element of the series is supposed to be its main appeal - the show is based squarely in male fantasy, despite the rather prominent elements it may have that appeal to female audiences.

I just recently bought Sister Princess after reading an article about it in the NewTypeUSA magazine. It intrigued me since I had recently heard a little about this and seen some pictures at anime fan sites.
As said, all the characters are extremely adorable and cute. I envy Wataru. Of course, I can also understand why he wants to escape. Having attention is great, but too much of a good thing can be bad for you. But I'm glad he does eventually come around and learn to appreciate his sisters attentions. Anyway, a great movie with funny antics and lively as well as soothing music.
4.5 out of 5 for this reviewer.
