I don't mean this as a flame, but punctuation and at least some attempt at coherrent sentence structure would be appreciated.

Translation: Why is the O.C. (and American Dreams) shown in 4:3 and not widescreen on the DVDs? He states Arrested Development's DVDs are in widescreen, even though all three shows are shot in widescreen/Hi-Def.

Answer: No idea

I laughed. I cried.

Anyhow. Only thing I can think of. American Dreams is a NBC stidios (now NBC*Universal) production. The OC is a WB production. and Arrested is a 20th Century Television production.

Could it just be because it's three different studios and each will have their own ways of doing things? Just a thought.

It's definitely not a WB issue. They released The West Wing Season 2 and Kung Fu Season 1 in 16:9 even though both were originally broadcast in 4:3(although at least the former was protected for WS).

The official word is that the producers wanted The O.C. Season 1 to be shown in 4:3 on the DVD set. Season 2 will reportedly be 16:9. Why they made this decision is beyond me, but I'm a big fan of the show so I bought the box set regardless.
