OK, I was looking into the NEW TMNT DVD releases to see if they were being released in Broadcast Order, and I am using DVDEmpire as my sorce, The first 5 relaese are all in order then for some unkown reason they skipped 4 episodes (The Shredder Returns 2-Parter and the single episodes that comes before & after it) then the next 4 are in order again, then the newset releases (last 3-4 months) are all over the place, 1 Volume has episodes 36-35-37+44 and the last volume has episodes 38-39-43-48-47, so are the 2nd season episodes being released in production order (like Batman:TAS) or are FUNmation just starting to randomize the relaese? I hate to buy incomplete series and if the NEW TMNT is coming in some kind of "official order" I will start picking them up (they are only $10-$13) but I don't want any screwed up stuff. Also what's up with the 4 missing episodes of Season 1? Was the DVD announced then delayed or cancelled?
Now about the OLD TMNT series, is the DVD that Artisan released really the entire first season? I see it advertised as such at some sites, but it's only got 5 episodes. And what are the 4 Never Seen Episodes?

The first "season" was only five episodes. The "bonus" episodes are from later seasons that aired only in select markets. I couldn't get through the ones I tried to watch, so don't buy the DVD for them. I'm not sure how many seasons I originally saw, but I figure I have to pick up Season 2, whenever it comes out.

Complete trash is what they are. The five episodes are worth the price, but don't buy the DVD if you think the bonus episodes might justify the purchase.

Yes, the bonus episodes are crap, but I can not recommend the Season 1 disc highly enough. Though I am biased because it was a childhood favorite of mine, the original season 1 set is one of the discs I have enjoyed the most this year. Nostalgia is a powerful thing. I am waiting on season 2 to be announced - it is mine on release day for sure!!

In volume 11, when the episodes start to get a little out of order, The Golden Puck is entirely filler, so it's not a major deal. Now, in volume 12, things sort of get back on track, but then skip ahead to some more filler episodes. I haven't seen all of those eps, so I can't say how if they have any major plot details that spoil future volumes. Volume 13 has all its episodes IN ORDER, although I'd hold off on watching this volume until after you've seen Vol. 14. The Battle Nexus disc is being released early to tie into the video game coming out and the fact that the eps just recently aired on TV... aka, fresh in kids' minds.

Funny how they started piling 4 episodes per volume instead of 3 as in the first season. At least put them in slimcases.

They're not aimed at collecters of good shows, they're aimed at kids. That's why they sell em' seperatly and why they come in the normal boxes.
I'd love a season set (like Family Guy type package) but parents aren't going to say okay to a $30 set. They're going to say okay to a $10 disc.

Where does the "Michelangelo's Christmas Rescue" DVD belong? Is that just a regular episode being packaged as a Christmas title, or is it exclusive, and won't be available on the regular volumes?

It's a stand alone episode, it will air during the holiday season and as far as I know it won't be on any future volumes. It is the actual first episode of Season 3, but could really go anywhere in the collection
