Title pretty much says it all. Good from 10/23 to 10/30/04. (Remember to print out multiple copies if you want to buy more than one item...)
Credit for this one goes to bensbargains.net.

are dvd's considered electronics?

No. DVDs are not considered electronics.

Borders considers such items as Walkmans and headphones as "electronics," though you might be unlucky enough to get a salesperson who thinks DVDs are as well. If that's the case, simply ask to speak to a manager and you'll get the 20% off faster than you can bypass Universal's forced trailers.

I encountered a sales clerk in Cambridge, MA, this month that tried to claim that DVDs were electronics, but the manager overruled the bad call.

Yeah, and I had a clerk who claimed dvds counted as video games!

I was just there and used the 20 percent off coupon. She scanned a coupon they keep on hand and it rang up 25 percent off. Then she looked at my coupon and said "ooops. wrong discount." and adjusted it back. I told her the original discount was fine and she said no.

I wanted to use the 20% off coupon on Mulan which was stickered at $19.99, but I was told I was not allowed to use this coupon because $19.99 was already a discount and coupons and discounts could not be combined. To me the stickered price is the price and not a discount, so they used a technicality to get out of giving me the coupon, so I walked out telling them if I were that desperate I could go to Best Buy next door and get it for $17.99 which I still think is too much.

I'm hoping Fry's will have Mulan for $15.99 in tomorrow's ad.

No matter how many Borders coupons show up, it seems either I can't find anything that isn't overpriced, they are out of stock of what I want, or they claim I can't use the coupon because the item is already discounted. You've got to love Borders...

I had a similar thing happen to me with the last 20 percent off coupon.

I tried picking up American Werewolf in London which was on sale for 12.99. The cashier told me that I couldn't use the coupon because it specifically said "20 percent off regular price" (which in this case was 23.99). Apparently I would only be able to get 20 percent off of 23.99.

I'm a little confused as to why they specifically mention DVDs in the last coupon but omitted it this time? I thought they realized how much confusion they were causing...

I'm a little confused as to why they specifically mention DVDs in the last coupon but omitted it this time?Because this is a different sale.
To me the stickered price is the price and not a discount, so they used a technicality to get out of giving me the couponSo a store can't put a sale price sticker on their products?

"May not be combined with other coupons or discounts" is clearly written on the coupon. It's your fault, not theirs, that you failed to read the terms of the deal.

I hope you laid into them good.

Well he is right. I've run into that before and sometimes the 20 percent off regular price is better than the sale price so I've had them give it to me that way.

Gonna pick up the Fox "Studio Classics: Best Picture Collecton." Borders website lists it at $25.99, so with 20% off and tax, it will be $21.83. $.13 under DDD's price and no wait.

Seeing as Border's wants $12.99 for each of the individual titles (All About Eve, Gentleman's Agreement, How Green Was My Valley) and the bonus disc, Sunrise, is unavailable otherwise, its a steal at $5.50 a disc.
