I am not a religious man, but if I were, I'd certainly be a Buddhist. There is a certain order to the universe, karma if you will. I think things happen for reason. All signs point to Sox vs Stros. Massachusetts vs Texas (sound familiar to another 'game' going on right now?). Clemens vs the Sox. The Sox having to beat the greatest Sox pitcher of the last half-century and IMO, the greatest pitcher of the last century to exercise the curse. Clemens on track to pitch games 3 and 7 of a World Series should the Stros win. Game 7 at Fenway. Sorry, Cards fans, the Stros win this game. Destiny awaits. It's in the cards. ;)

Finally we're guaranteed a World Series where the winner will have a real and actual and valid fan base.
Sox fans and Cards fans are two of the best. I'll be happy for whomever wins, but GO SOX.

I have worn the same close the last two nights - these things are going to stink by the time the Series is over.
The St. Louis Cardinals are going to the World Series!!!
Re-match of 1967 - Boston, here we come!!! I can't believe this Series is going to be one of my dream match-ups.

I would think in some way you would be relieved for not having to have TWO teams to be silent about in the WS.
:( indeed....

Two amazing LCS this year. Congrats to the Astros and their fans on an amazing run over the last couple of months of the season. That was awesome.

just fyi..
corrie and I were laying in the back.. i was watching the game.. she was kindof reading a book
the score was tied 2-2 and I made the comment that I couldnt decide who to cheer for..
she stopped reading.. looked at the game.. and said, Im cheering for the Astros.. Literally less than 1 second later, Rolen hit the 2 run shot.
if you want to blame corrie, feel free

Either way, it was going to be nice to see a NL Central team finally make it to the big show - just very happy it's the Cardinals.

I was 12 when the Cardinals lost to the Twins in the World Series. I've been waiting for this for 17 years.
My Grandpa was a huge Cardinals fan. He'd sit out in his truck and listen to games on the radio since the local radio station was an affilliate. He took me to my first game at Busch Stadium. It was the first time I had been to a big city, and the first time I had been around so many people. I hope he was able to see the game tonight. I'm sure Jack Buck called a hell of a game up there.
Wow, what a series. Back when the Astros traded for Beltran, people where like "what the fuck?" and expected them to turn around and trade him at the deadline. They had been written off. To catch fire and take the Wild Card at the wire, grind out a full series with the Braves, and go a full 7 games in a series that either team could have taken... amazing. Congratulations on not only winning a postseason series for the first time, but damn near making it to the World Series.
Now on to Boston!

I was nine the last time the Cardinals made the Series, but I was only a Twins fan back then. :) I remember listening to the games on the radio w/ my dad (a life-long Twins fan) when we were living in West Germany.
My first big league was in Milwaukee and Boston was the visiting team.

The NL Central is the toughest division by FAR. Even the AL East can't quite stack up. THREE teams in the NL Central were in the running for the playoffs until the 161st game of the season. That's pretty impressive.
Well, now the Cardinals get a chance to be the second most hated team in baseball........
And if they win it all, I'll be forced to admit that they were for real.
Go BoSox! I hate eating my words!!! Show us that pitching is still important in baseball for God's sake! Tell me that you need more than three good players and a pitching staff with a 4.80 ERA to win the World Championship!!!
Help us Boston! You're our only hope for justice in the world of baseball!!

Plus, two of those teams wiped out the East and West winners in the playoffs. NL Central!

Great news. Since the Astros were tied with the Cards going into the extra innings of the would-be deciding game yesterday and had won the season series, tonight's game is meaningless and I proudly proclaim Houston to be the National League Co-Champions.

Well, I'm sad to see the Astros lose especially after their late season surge. I've always been a fan of the team. I think Boston has so much momentum right now, coupled with home field advantage, they are gonna take it in six.
