Koreandvds.com reply to Rules Of The Game

We were just given a link by one of the customers at the dvdtalk.com, a discussion about the legitimacy of Rules of Game, which apparently has Criterion features. We have stopped selling this title. Also, please let it be known that this is not a title produced by Alto Media.

However, forum people seem to confuse every bootleg title with criterion supplement with Alto Media, which produces only copyrighted materials.

This is in part due to the fact that we have promoted Alto as a company that strives to be Criterion type company in providing art films and world-class packaging. Another reason for the unfortunate misconception is the fact that Alto Media goes at great lengths to include top notch special features which might and might not coincide with Criterion special features.

to them!

That's one less Criterion bootleg they sell, but there's still several others. Take a look at this Element of Crime.

I suggest calling them on it.

There are some other bootleg criterion collection titles on koreandvds.com, and I thought we are not allowed to discuss bootlegs here.

That's true, Raxel, but this is more guided towards us not getting ripped off.

Glad to see them taking a stand on this. I should have contacted them first anyway rather than posting about it here.... oddly enough it never even occured to me.

Still, their willingness to stop selling bootlegs that are called to their attention is encouraging... it's just too bad that someone has to receive one and complain before they know about it.
