For those of you who own MS Office 97, 2000, XP, or 2003 you can pick up Microsoft OneNot and make $20.01 from Amazon. link (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002HE2IW/ref%3Dnosim/fatwalletcom/102-6960732-3405724) and then send in the $100.00 rebate found here (http://rebateplace.com/forms/2552.pdf) . I called the rebate number and the Studnet and Teacher Edition counts and so do the full and upgrade versions.

Amazon price $79.99 w/ free shipping
Rebate -$100.00
You make a cool $20.01.

MS if very fast on the rebates also. Usually get mine in about 3 weeks. Make sure you make copies of everything.

Saw a deal like this over at fatwallet and wanted to let all the dvdtalkers in!

Thanks TheCobra.

In the fine print of the rebate form it says:

"...Offer expires September 1, 2006. All qualifying coupons must be received by October 31, 2006. Only original coupons will be accepted..."

Would the printout count towards original coupon?

in the fine print, it says that the rebate is not valid with "not-for-resale" product. does that mean it's not valid on a NFR copy of OneNote, or all NFR office products?

i have two NFR versions of office and would like to get onenote, but don't want to waste my time if i'm not going to get the rebate.

thanks.

edit: nevermind. looking at the thread on fatwallet, it doesn't even look like this version of onenote technically qualifies for the rebate, and i don't feel like going through the hassle of arguing with ms over twenty bucks. thanks though op for the post.

If you have a friend that has a copy of one of the offfice programs you can send in a copy of the CD, box top, or even the title page. I have an old title page from office 97 I will be sending in. Just a thought.

This rebate does qualify!! I called the rebate center and read them the Item model number: S26-01031. They told me it does qualify. I made sure prior to ordering. She also told me on the phone all OneNotes will qualify and read me a list of Model numbers. That is why I stated to keep copies of everything just in case they come back at a later day. It has saved me a number of times.

thanks for that info.

i checked my nfr copies. one of the versions says on the cd that its nfr. the other only had a sticker on the box but had nothing on the cd, so i think i can photocopy that cd as my proof-of-purchase.

I downloaded the 60-day trial version. This is a neat little program. I am sure some will like it and other will not. You be the judge and download it from MS. http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote/prodinfo/trial.mspx

Save another $1.26 by using the A9 search engine on the Amazon web site.

Okay, I get it now. You use the A9 search engine, then just go to the product page linked above. Since you've "recently" used their search engine, they take 1.57% (pi/2%) off when you checkout.
KenBuzz, since you've been using A9.com recently, virtually everything at Amazon.com is automatically an additional pi/2% (1.57%) off for you. Collecting this discount is zero effort on your part. It will be applied automatically at checkout (it will happen whether you use the shopping cart or our 1-Click Shopping®). You don't need to do anything to get this discount except keep using A9.com as your regular search engine.

We don't advertise this additional discount that we give in exchange for using A9.com, so if you want your friends to know about it, please tell them. It is probably the only way they'll find out. All they have to do is use A9.com as their regular search engine. They should make sure they are signed in to A9.com (it should be recognizing them by name) so that we can be certain they get credit for their visit.
I'll bet there's a thread elsewhere that talks about this, eh? :)

I just called the number and was told that S26-01031 does not qualify, and that the only model numbers which qualify are S26-00141 S26-00527 S26-00558

Could someone please clarify.

.... which would render this a dead deal (since Amazon is selling S26-01031), even though the rebate coupon does not make any mention of it being good only with specific versions/models of OneNote.

To receive your $100 US/$150 CDN mail-in rebate, follow each of the steps below:

1. Acquire Microsoft Office OneNote 2003.
2. Enclose proof of purchare from one of the qualifying, previous versions of the Microsoft products listed on the reverse side (below).
3. Enclose proof of purchase from the OneNote 2003 you just acquired.
4. Enclose a copy of your dates sales receipt (with date and store name clearly identified) for the OneNote 2003 product you just acquired.

Fineprint: Rebate is not valid in conjunction with other Microsoft offers or rebates; or for upgrades from or on Academic Edition product unless otherwise specified; Not-for-Resale product; or Microsoft products pre-installed or supplied by a manufacturer OEM.Product list (from 2 above):
Microsoft Works 2000, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0
Microsoft Works Suits 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, or 2006
Microsoft Office 97, 2000, XP, 2003

Is it possible that Amazon is selling the NFR version?? If not, I don't see why the rebate wouldn't work, since there's no mention of specific model numbers.

I didn't see a link to the rebate (PDF) form at Amazon but I did find one, I hope it's OK to post it here:

(see link in next reply)

At the bottom of the form it shows the part number info as:

0603 Part No. X09-63808

I assume this is the same rebate form that will come with the boxed software?

Here is the link from an official Microsoft site:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/7/6/97637e82-ca7f-4930-bbfc-ef4d55a51468/OneNote_en_Rebate.pdf

The $100 question is whether the product from Amazon qualifies or not.

Also the form says that "only original coupons will be accepted" which could be interpreted to mean that only the coupons that come with the box would be accepted.

I received the $100 rebate yesterday.
