American Dreams 10/17/04
Meg finally gets her Henry, but it takes some crafty manuevering, and some leverage exerted by one of the teachers in lieu of completing homework.
Rox is almost bounced out of the Pryor house, but at the last moment, Jack reconsiders.
Pete gets suspended from the police force due to a bar brawl, and his support of Jack for his run for city councilman.
JJ becomes closer to the girl from the hospital, Ahn?. They share a kiss on one of their "dates".
JJ has to endure the interrogation of a friendly Vietnamese bartender, but speak up for the bartender. This results in him not gettting the assignment he was in contention for among the others. Later, the bar is bombed, and Ahn is killed. That gets JJ out of a mess he might have gotten himself into, with a child on the way with Beth.
Beth and the singer share a kiss after she inspires him to finish a song for her. She's definitely confused by the whole situation.
Henry finally meets Sam's girl Melanie at Sam's first basketball game, and gives Sam some teasing about it. Melanie also meets Meg at the game, and Melanie seems to have a jealous streak about her given her concerned look as Sam acknowledged Meg's presence during the game.
Jack wins the election, on the strength of Henry's neighborhood voters, who were blocked by red tape, but the neighborhood walked all the way to the polls to vote for Jack.

Just an awesome, awesome episode. I love everything about this show. Now that JJ has the secret mission by default I'm interested in seeing him back in the field again.
Meg and the boy next door have an interesting relatonship. Is it just me or does it seem like they're trying to make her fall for the bad boy?

This show is getting really good. I was kind of lukewarm about it in season one, but it just gets better and better, and is now one of my favorite shows.
And I have a mega-crush on Ben Taylor (Cal, the folk-club singer.)
I was surprised JJ pursued a relationship with that girl, knowing about Beth and the baby. That seemed a little out of character for him. Guess we'll be spared the war-bride, love-triangle plotline.

I don't know. Meg is quite progressive and can be pretty rebellious.

I can't wait until they finally pursue that storyline.

Yeah - let's just hope NBC keeps this show on during sweeps. It really struggles in the ratings. I'm still amazed that they renewed it.
With the possible exception of SVU, this is the best drama NBC has, and obviously, it is its best serial drama.

Meg and Rox have really gotten a lot cuter this season. I almost thought Rox was going to jump Jack's bones for a second during the haircut scene.

I would think they would cover the Sam/Meg angle at least once before the season finale.

They have pulled it during sweeps once or twice over the past couple of years haven't they?
