Mark Romanek, music video compilation, 2004?
On Mark Romanek's website he answers the following question:
are there any plans to release a dvd compilation of your music videos?
PalmPictures.com makes no mention of this in their press releases or anywhere on their site, as far as I can tell. Has this been delayed? Has anyone heard anything more about this.
For those of you who don't know Mark Romanek he's basically the greatest music video director ever! He also directed One Hour Photo.

yes. a comprehensive dvd is currently in production and will appear in 2004. it will be released by palm pictures as part of their new 'director's label' series (the same label that just released dvd compilations of the work of spike jonze, michel gondry, and chris cunningham). there will be interviews with most -- if not all -- of the artists i've worked with, a full-color fifty page booklet, and an extensive assortment of bonus materials.

He's worked with some great artists (Beck, Bowie, Eels, Sonic Youth) and some terrible ones (Lenny Kravitz, Linkin Park, Macy Gray). He has nowhere near the track record of a Spike Jonze or a Michel Gondry.

I'd look forward to this; he's more like Cunningham than Jonze or Gondry. I disagree with illenium's "track record" statement. He's not bad at all, if not as innovative.
IMDb mentions "The Work Of Mark Romanek" for 2005. Take that for what you will.

Mark's got a lot of his videos up on his site. I downloaded a few earlier.
The files are Mp4 files, embedded in the web page; however, by viewing the web page's source, you can get the link to directly download the Mp4 file.
Here's the direct download links to those I got earlier. (The "Closer" video ain't exactly work-safe)
Johnny Cash - Hurt
Michael & Janet Jackson - Scream
Fiona Apple - Criminal
Lenny Kravitz - Are You Gonna Go My Way
Madonna - Bedtime Stories
Madonna - Rain
Nine Inch Nails - Closer
Weezer - El Scorcho
Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug
No Doubt - Hella Good
Beck - Devil's Haircut
Just right-click and "Save Target As...".
