Q: on Xbox Live with free controller
I went to Best Buy the other day and I was looking at the accessories and I found this orange controller that comes with 3 months of Xbox Live. I dont have Live or an extra controller for my box so I was thinking of picking it up. On the box though it says that the 3 monts offer goes from such an such date to another. The problem is that it already expired. Does anyone know if I buy the pack if Microsoft will still honor the offer and give me the 3 months of Live? If anyone has gotten the pack is the controller any good? Thanks.

I think you're refering to the Phoenix Pad Live :
From what I hear it's a functional but not spectacular controller with the live capability built in (and only one slot available). It comes with one of those free two month trial cards. If it expired, it probably won't be any good to you. It should be the same as the ones that come free in any new Live game available now (such as the ESPN sports games). Someone here could probably give youy a free code if you like. Still, after two months you'd need to re-up anyway.
edit: I know you posted that it comes with a 3 mo live subscription, and you certainly may be right about that, but the EB Games site says a 2 mo trial, so that's what I posted.

Yep - that was the controller I was looking at. Thanks to both of you for finding the pic. I guess I will look into just getting a subscription card or one of the bundles with a microphone.
