From TVShowsOnDVD.com (http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=2304): Neil Ottenstein emailed us earlier today to tell us he heard a rumor that Lois & Clark would be released in 2005. We've asked Warner Bros about the series a few times over the past year and they've told us they're looking into it, and that they'd like to release the set, but it's never been scheduled. This morning we decided to follow up on the series again, and we were told that they are working on the set, and it'll be released sometime in 2005. We asked them to narrow it down, but they were reluctant to do so since the date could change. We'll keep you updated with any information we receive.
The news should make Dean Cain happy, as he expressed interest in seeing the show on DVD last December. I also had the pleasure of speaking with Justin Whalin (Jimmy Olsen #2) when I was in Las Vegas this past July and he was excited at the thought of seeing the show on DVD.
It's a bit sad that the good news that this show will be released comes the day after Christopher Reeve passed away. Reeve played the Man of Steel in 4 theatrical movies.

Nowhere near as much as the Burton/Cage flick was heading towards...
I actually liked this show, so I'll be up for it. Love superhero stuff. Between that and the animated series, I'll be good to go on Superman for quite a while.

Great News! I've been waiting for this one for a while. Not sure if i'll stick around for the time-travelling HG Wells crap in the later seasons though.

L&C is to Superman as "Wonder Woman" was to, well, Wonder Woman. Silly, bad effects, etc - but oh so enjoyable.

Teri Hatcher is insanely hot & wasn't Bruce Campbell a villain in an episode.
Even with both, I would never buy this set, Dean Cain sucks.

I loved watching this show as a kid, mostly because it didn't take itself too seriously. I think its mostly goofy quality is a plus, as well as featuring Bruce Campbell as a villain. Some really good episodes, and some ones I wish they'd never made. So, it rounds out at above-average. This, coupled with the childhood nostalgia I'm sure to get while watching this show again on DVD, is placing this in the "must have" column for me.
And screw anyone who doesn't think Teri Hatcher is hot.

I'll get it. I am a fan of this show,Smallville and the 4 movies with Christofer Reeve (R.I.P)
Even though it's a blatant Buffy ripoff, Smallville is one of the best shows on TV over the past few years. I especially like their take on the Clark/Lex relationship, though one has to wonder how that will play out later with secret identities and whatnot...and I have to admit that some of the plot devices are retarded (caves and witches). Still, it's the only show that I watch regularly and is the only one programmed into the DVD-RAM. They seriously missed the boat when they didn't cast Tom Welling and especially Lex (name slipped my mind) from Smallville in the new Superman movie.
Lois and Clark, while not a "shitfest" is clearly the lesser of the two series...unless camp is just your thing.

I remember that I used to watch this show with my family alot, but since I was only about 5 years old I don't remember that much of it. Lately I have really been getting into the superman comics (and I'll admit Despereate Housewives) and I can't wait for this DVD to come out...

Don't you thing that season 3 of Smallville did that good enough? But I actaully have high hopes for season 5 of smallville (if there is a season 5)... my only grip is that they should end smallville and start a new show called metropolis or something, but that won't happen because smallville is to close to the 100th Episode.
Nowhere near as much as the Burton/Cage flick was heading towards...
That was going to be bad. It sucks though that J.J Abrams and Keri Rusell left the project. As weird as felicity as lois lane sounds, its better than Kate Bosworth

I read on another message board that Keri's audition was really awful, so I'm glad she didn't get it (and I LOVED Felicity). I think JJ may have been an interesting choice though.
On topic? Hm, I don't really remember this show that well so maybe I'll rent it.

Loved the show, but there were some things that I hated:
1. Cat (What a bad actress)
2. Some of the stories were super corny
3. Jimmy Olsen #1
Only Lois & Clark registers. The others are all zeros :D
Seriously speaking though, I just cannot stand Smallville at all and I hated the Bruce Timm Superman cartoon.
The Lois & Clark tv show was great fun and I think Teri Hatcher was the best Lois Lane ever. Also, whoever played Kents in L&C were the best portrayal of his parents, IMO.

Yeah tell me about it! I'm only 22 but I did watch that show on Nick At Nite all the time when I was younger. I used to love all the classics more than regular TV shows... dick van dyke, mary tyler moore, the honeymooners, sanford and son, get smart, bewitched, i love lucy... the list goes on and on.
I liked Lois and Clark at the time, but I do think it was a little too campy. I always thought Terri Hatcher was hot...
Slightly off subject: during L&C she was really hot, when she was doing the Radio Shack commercials she really deteriated and looked like she was on crack :whofart: , now all of the sudden she is hot again, :hump: WTF?

That show was produced by the Salkinds (producers of the Superman movies and Supergirl), so there may be some rights issues involved. They weren't happy at all with the WB releases of the Superman movies a few years back so I don't think we may ever see the Superboy show come out on DVD.During the recent chat with Warner Bros over at HomeTheaterForum, WB reps said that Superboy was actually being considered for a DVD release...which I would LOVE!!!
[MattSav] Now Warner has announced Lois&Clark and 1950's Superman, have
you/would you please consider the superb 1988-1992 "Superboy" live action
series for 2006? Also, I know the animation dept. isn't there, but I'm
voicing my support for a release of the 1980's animated "Ruby Spears'
Superman" series based on the movie mythology.
[WarnerHomeVideo] SUPERBOY is under consideration.
You can read the complete transcript here (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htforum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=230295)
I for one would be thrilled to see Superboy get a DVD release!! I just hope they do all the seasons and do not ignore the first season, which featured John Haymes Newton as Superboy... Don't get me wrong, Gerrard Christopher was great, but when I was a kid, our local station only aired Season 1 (which I taped and watched a million times). I did not see any of the later seasons after Newton was replaced until years later. So, to me, having the first season would be great!

Still waiting to hear about Season 1 of the 1950's Superman .
That is the only season of that show I am interested in as after Season 1 they made it more of a children's show with childlike crooks and nutty professors.
