I don't know where to rank Georgia. Having them over Cal is wrong IMO, but having FSU up at #7 is silly too, because Miami has no business at #3. On any given day, I think Georgia's the best 1-loss team in the country, but they have to pay for that loss at thome. I guess 8th or 9th sounds right.

I personally think they're a better team than Cal and Texas, but s they've proven this year, they are inconsistent at best and wasting talent at worst. I think #10 is a good place. Maybe they'll stop reading their own press now and get on with playing football.

They still have Florida, Auburn, and Georgia Tech in there, not including 3 other SEC games. Lot of season left, but if Tennessee doesn't lose to 'Bama, South Carolina, or Arkansas, it doesn't matter.

I have to admit, it's not as much fun when Tennessee ruins your season. I'd much rather Florida do it. Not that I'm complaining, mind you ... whatever it takes ... :)

It's been interesting hearing people talk around here today. No one saw the Cal game, and so they're getting zero respect. That's a shame. I don't know how they'd stack up against some others, but that was an amazing football game, and they deserve some credit for it.

Eventhough I don't like the program I have given the Cal program their due the last month or so. The showed one hellava effort in a revenge matchup in a soldout road game against a pretty damn tough opponent. They are solid on both sides of the ball and Tedford really has that program running on all gears. Do I want to see them fall on thier face , yes. Do I discount how good of a program that they are, no. I will say depending on how ASU plays against USC this week, thier matchup down the road against Cal should prove very interesting and it might decide a Rose Bowl berth assuming USC runs the table.


Don't forget to try to catch the Bobby Curran show. I plan to try to remember tuning in tomorrow at work. :)

Growing up in San Jose I always followed the Spartans and even when they had good teams (mid 80s) they never got any respect in the Bay Area. I guess my hatred of Cal and Stanford stems from resentment if anything. It's not like my hatred just falls on those two schools as the Raiders and Niners aren't high my lists as well :)

As a 15 year season ticket holder I was disgusted with San Diego State's performance in the 2nd half last week. They just gave the game (literally) away to Wyoming. WYOMING! (How the hell do you recruit players to places like Utah and Wyoming anyway?)

Will the real Aztecs please stand up? Is it the team that went into Michigan and nearly beat the Wolverines and followed that up with a sound thrashing of Nevada (one of those teams they are supposed to thrash), or is it the team that has self destructed against UCLA & Wyoming?

We'll find out more this week. They SHOULD beat Colorado State at home on Saturday (and I will be there - View, Section 37 - on the 43 yard line). If they don't I will be pissed. They may have a depleted offensive line (3 O-Linemen have been out the last couple of weeks), and their best running back still hasn't recovered from a catostrophic injury from late last season (and has been redshirted), and their starting QB should really be the backup - but they should not be making the kind of mistakes they did in Pasadena and in the 2nd half in Wyoming.

They may just have the best twosome of linebackers in the country (Kirk Morrison and Matt McCoy), and the rest their defense is solid. Tom Craft has to get this team to cut down on the mental errors, and he has to get that offense clicking.

Craft has done a great job of recruiting over the last 3 years, now it's time for those players to step up and perform. (And, yes - I AM an Aztecs die-hard. I should be - both of my parents graduated from SDSU, and I went to my first Aztecs Football game at 2 1/2!)

Oh, I almost forgot - GO USC!! Beat the snot out of Arizona State!

Just got back home from the game (UL @ UM) an hour ago. What a great game. U of L played very well on offense and so did Miami. But each teams defense did horrible tonight. I am glad I read this thread tonight, it gave me a good laugh. Some of you guys are funny. I see that it must suck to be FSU now. Their highlight of the season has come to wishing other teams beat Miami because they can't get the job done :lol:

I too nearly took the Moneyline but ended up parlaying the dog and the under. At halftime, when it was clear that this was not going to be the defensive battle I anticipated, I tripled it into Miami -7. I almost parlayed that -7 with the 2nd half over, but I figured the -7 was such a gimme that I should just ride it.

Miami wants to see FSU lose just as much as FSU likes to see other teams beat Miami. I will just about always root for an underdog to beat a heavy favorite, unless its FSU. I think most of us are that way. If Miami goes undefeated and wins the National title, I really dont care. Obviously its not my first choice, but if its not FSU, then it doesnt really matter. Plus it only helps out FSU and ACC in the long run.

Yep....that was the thing i hated most about living in Tempe for 3 years....going to a sports bar at 8:30am to watch Michigan State football just isn't fun. You'd think they'd have a good breakfast for that, but no place in Tempe ever did. Same thing on Sundays with games at 10 and 1.
