Can we talk about Ghost In The Machine?
Not Ghost in the Shell, but the 1993 movie about a serial killer who is downloaded into a computer and continues to carry out his homicidal m.o. in cyberspace. Is this somehow not the most terrible film ever made? I mean, not just the awful acting... but also the horrible effects. Worst sin of this film is how much they take advantage of a stupid audience. In 93, Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet - at least it wasn't so widely used and easily accessible - but they assumed the audience would believe you could email people with a phone number and then hack their power cables and make their digital dishwasher have a "die" cycle.
I mean, Wargames was like 10 years earlier than this and it managed to give the audience a little more credit. Same with Short Circuit. Ghost in the Machine belonged in 1981 or something. Is it possible it sat on the shelf for that long? I mean, Karen Allen was big in 81... it's possible, right? Lawnmower Man was a year earlier than this... The Net and Hackers both came out a mere 2 years after. Just for reference.

Nearly 11 years after I suffered through this at the multiplex on New Year's Eve(it was a friend's idea, not mine), I still think it's the worst movie I've ever seen. It outranks Highlander 2, Crapman & Robin, Blues Brothers 2000, and Mortal Kombat Annihilation on my list. Yes, it's THAT bad.
That being said, for the worst movie ever made, I did find myself repeating "I call your butt 'onion' cuz it makes me wanna cry" for a long time. What a classically brutal pickup line.

I'm not even trying to say it's the worst movie of all time, just that it's completely horrible. There have been many worst film ever threads... this film strangely enough rarely gets a mention. Top honors typically go to Cutthroat Island or some clowns will post a Michael Bay movie or a hugely popular film like Titanic or Gladiator. But whatever, I digress...
Ghost in the Machine... onion butt... ok. We're getting somewhere. Has this film ruined anyone's career? If not, it should have. The writer perhaps?
