How can I turn a $30 Blockbuster Card into a new game

Thread title says it all. I havent been broke in 2 years but now I am. I really want to pick up live 2005 but I have no money. Ive got a $30 Gift Card from Blockbuster and wanna turn it into helping me get this 40 buck game.

Go trade in some old DVDs sitting on your shelf.

There is a way to do this, but it is really shady and a big YMMV, so I'm not going to tell you. But, you should probably poke around cheapassgamer and see if you can figure it out for yourself.

Can't you use the card towards the purchase of the game at Blockbuster?

If you have a GameRush Blockbuster near you, they are giving excellent trade ins and running coupons, etc there. My local GameRush has been allowing the stacking of multiple deals, etc.

Use your grocery money for the game.

Then, use the BB gift card to buy $30 worth of Milk Duds and ration accordingly.

Or if you're serious - save your money - buy a deck of cards or have a conversation with a loved one.

A penny saved... and all that.

Get ESPN NBA 2K5 for 20 bucks, then use the extra 10 on something else...

Oh, wait, you mention that yours isn't a Gamerush and doesn't have new games... in which case, I don't understand your question. Do you want a way to turn your 30 dollar gift card into 40 dollars of real cash so you can buy it somewhere else? Otherwise, if you wait until they sell the used games (and they should have a lot of used NBA Lives in about a month or so), you can probably get it for 30 bucks, maybe cheaper if they have those buy 2 get 1 free deals.

Problem solved. I traded in some used games (which amounted to about 30 bucks). Then, my friend spent 5 bucks on a preoder (GTA) which turned my used game value to about 60 bucks (dont know why but EB is cool that way). He then shelled out 20 more bucks and we both have Live 2005. So the rundown was.

Me - about 6 used games
Him- 3 used games (of lesser value than mine), 20 bucks, plus 5 bucks towards GTA

Now I dont have to worry about it. Thanx anyway guys .

PS Its funny that Im broke cuz the major reason is 1) People that Ive given money to owes me 200 and 2) I have to wait 50 years to get my Tivo rebate... The life of a college loser
