Falling Down SE?
Anyone know if this is going get a SE..treatment?
This is one of those really underrated movies I think, an amazing flick, have'nt picked it up cause of the Snapper--( I F@#@king hate Snappers) and lack of features...
Another I'm really waiting for is a SE of
Casino
Heat ( Rumoured to come out with Collateral)
I think Falling down shows a really good sence of what happening in the world...
I love the seen were he orders a burger and then compares it to the one in the photo..."Is ther something wrong with this picture...look at that Juicy succulant burger in the picture and then look at this peice of meat!!"
I feel the same way at alot of these joints the burger lookes flipping 2 times bigger than what you end up getting...
or addressing the rich....
Bill Foster : What are you trying to do? Kill me with a golf ball? It's not enough you have all these beautiful acres fenced in for your little game, but you gotta kill me with a golf ball? You should have children playing here, you should have families having picnics, you should have a goddamn petting zoo. But instead you've got these stupid electric carts for you old men with nothing better to do.
then the gang members....
I mean this movie has it all...
So what are your thoughts of Falling Down...

A solid movie that I've watched several times on DVD (I don't actually watch the snapper, just the movie!) and it would indeed be nice to have some extras on an SE.

Absolutely a great movie, with many messages about society, and human nature in general. This is probably one of Michael Douglas's best roles as an actor, aside from Wall Street.
I would love a Special Edition of Falling Down.
I agree, some of the scenes in this, may or may not were mean't to be funny, but they are because of the wicked, already a nut, Michael Douglas, sort of saying it how it is to everyday people.

Indeed, this movie deserves SE treatment. I've been putting off buying it because I'm counting on it be released in a better version, and I can wait. I have lots of films to catch up on.

"Now you're going to die, wearing that stupid hat. How does that feel?"
I second, third, or whatever the motion for a fuller release of this movie. Second best Douglas character, behind only the Great One, G. Gecko.

a fabulous film
yeah, it's a good film, but Schumacher is still clumsy. The script is a character study, about one of those sexist guys who thinks that as long as he kills himself afterwards, it's okay to murder his wife and/or children. Why? Because he sees them as his property; how dare they leave him! But the ad campaign, and to some extent the direction of the film, confuses this issue with so called PC or "multicultural" issues; but that's only what the characters says, and he's a self-serving, narcissistic jerk. It's a credit to Douglas, less so to Schumacher, that the character comes through as clearly as it does, and in spite of a terrible performance (as usual) from Frederick Forrest in a key role at the centre of the film. Then too, the film wouldn't work as well as it does without Robert Duval as D-FENS' antagonist. The script remains a little muddled about male/female relations, but it's strength lies in the accuracy of its observations about behaviour, rather than in any larger thesis about society. That, and, of course, it's intensity.

Douglas' character is clearly an anti-hero, and I think it helps the film overall that a guy you tend to start identifying with and virtually root for is slowly consumed with his evil underpinnings. How far are you willing to go with him before you are repulsed? Yet it is satisfying when he achieves a manner of redemption at the climax.
