Do you watch new DVD's you buy immediately?
I can't seem to do it. I think, now that I have it...there is no rush and I put it off. Mostly put it way off having spanking new DVD's sit and get eagerly anticipated for even up to a year or more. Even though I want to watch the "Star Wars Trilogy", I will put it off to watch in enjoyment when time and conditions permit and since I own it, I can look forward to it and not rush.
Anyone else have this disease?

It depends on the movie/show and how much excitement I have for the release. I buy some things knowing that I am not in the mood to watch it now, but will someday down the road and just want to be able to have in my collection.

I never watch dvds immediatly after I buy them...The only one I can even remember watching was Shaun of the Dead the day I got it because it was a Sunday, and didnt have anything else to do so I popped it in. But usually just watch them at my convenience .

I've got a HUGE pile (possible close to 100?) of DVDs that are waiting to be watched! My buying obviously exceeds my avility to watch, but I don't see this as a problem at all. It gives me the opportunity to decide what to watch when I feel like a certain type of film. For some big releases, like Star Wars, I make time right away.
I got into buying a lot of TV sets, and those tend to get me behind in other viewings.
It's all good!!

It does depend on how much I was looking forward to them. For instance I went through the entire Mr Show Season 4 and Clerks X within a few days of receiving them. Anything MST3K related gets watched the minute I open the box.
Other stuff I want to watch, but usually drag out for awhile or wait till I'm in the mood. It will probably take me awhile to finish the Star Wars box set and there are still 4 Star Trek movies I haven't even popped in the DVD player. I want to watch them, but haven't really been in the mood for them.

It depends highly on when it was purchased and what it is.
For examply, during the DDD 20% sale, I blew a ton of cash on several TV box sets. I still have yet to watch all of them, but know I will eventually (like Homicide and X Files)
Others, like Knight Rider, Sledge Hammer, Magnum PI, or the new Law & Orders, as soon as I got them, I popped them in.
Like others have said, it depeds on how uch I have been looking forward to them. In general though, I usually watch them right away.

Sometimes. Right now I am busy with classes and work, so I usually put off the new stuff I get until later on in the week.

Unless I have a backlog - which I currently do, I'll try to watch new titles within a week a buying them.

I watch them as I have time, seems I have more time to buy them though, as I usually buy them during lunch or on outtings with the wife. So i'm sure I have a backlog of around 50-60 that I need to watch. I'm slowly catching up, football season doesn't help much!

I try to. If I don't get to it within the week I buy it, the disc usually gets tossed into my backlog, which is currently much more than I care to admit.

running my company and working a physically, brutal 60 hour work week schedule...will not let me enjoy anything right away. this is my busy period of the year and I have to squeeze things in at best...unless I take days off...which means no $ coming in. I'd rather work more now....then enjoy it all later when it slows down....like the winter season. it just all depends. on a slow day....I'll catch up. watching everything right away is far from a priority at this point...but I keep on buying since thats the easy part.

Nope. I rarely watch them immediately (all the way through). I sometimes watch an episode or two (for TV shows).
It's more about having access to them when I want to watch them than about watching them immediately.

As with others, if it's a movie my son is hot to see we watch it immediately. If I see certain titles roll out that I don't envision watching soon, I've taken up the habit of waiting to buy them. Way too often I've seen the scenario of going to Wallyworld and having in my hand a copy of this or that for $5.50 that I paid upwards of $20 for.....that I haven't even unwrapped yet! Titles I KNOW I'll watch the day I buy them I have no trouble grabbing, however
