Dr. Phil did some slaughtering himself...
Missed Lost because my TIVO was busy with Smallville, and my VCR was busy with A's Next Top Model (for my wife, I promise)... guess I'll catch the repeat next next Sunday. Still, Wed. will be a busy night...

Does anyone know if The Mountain did worse than Angel did the same time last year? I sure would like to proove them wrong on their decision to cancel Angel in favor of this or any other show they had planned for Wednesdays at 9:00.
Glad to see That 70s show down at the bottom of the list.

According to www.thefutoncritic.com
And on the netlets, the premieres of "Smallville" (households: 3.6/6, #8; adults 18-49: 2.7, #7) and "The Mountain" (households: 2.6/4, #14; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T13) on The WB (households: 3.1/5, #5; adults 18-49: 2.3, #5) easily beat the launches of "America's Next Top Model" (households: 2.8/5, #13; adults 18-49: 1.8, #T13) and "Veronica Mars" (households: 1.8/3, #15; adults 18-49: 1.1, #15) on UPN (households: 2.3/4, #6; adults 18-49: 1.4, #6). In year-to-year comparisons (9/24/03), the Frog was up from its special "Hilary Duff's Island Birthday Bash" (households: 1.6/3; adults 18-49: 0.7) and an encore of "One Tree Hill" (households: 1.5/2; adults 18-49: 0.8). Versus "Smallville's" actual premiere (10/1/03) last season (households: 4.3/7; adults 18-49: 3.1) the Frog was down by a bit while "Angel's" season premiere (households: 3.8/6; adults 18-49: 2.7) easily topped this year's newcomer. UPN, meanwhile, was on par with new episodes of "Star Trek: Enterprise" (households: 2.6/4; adults 18-49: 1.9) and "Jake 2.0" (households: 1.9/3; adults 18-49: 0.9) a year ago.

Hard to compare The Mountain to Angel. The same counterprogramming is not there yet (no West Wing nor King of Queens). Law & Order is much stronger in the ratings than West Wing.

Interesting night last night
The Donald got a beatdown as CSI almost doubled The Apprentice in # of viewers
The big news is a new Without A Trace finally beat a new ER

That noise you heard last night was NBC officially passing the Must-See TV torch to rival CBS. For the first time opposite an all-original NBC lineup, the Eye network — paced by the season premieres of CSI and Without a Trace — won Thursday night in the Peacock's cherished adults 18-49 demo. At 8 pm, Survivor: Vanuatu (farewell, Dolly) scored a decisive victory over NBC's Joey/Will & Grace combo, while CSI crushed The Apprentice (buh-bye, Stacie J.) at 9 pm — 30 million viewers to 15.6 million viewers. But the big story was at 10 pm, where Without a Trace edged out the 11th-season premiere of ER among total viewers — another first. Now, that's what I call an emergency.
