Handsome Boy's second CD is the best party you'll be invited to this fall. The hosts are two funny, talented guys (producers Prince Paul and Dan the Automator). There's a nice mix of cool dudes (Pharrell, the RZA, Jack Johnson) and cute girls (Cat Power, Julee Cruise). Add some real wild cards (John Oates, Mike Patton), and you get a novel soundtrack of head-nodding hip-hop and smooth blue-eyed soul. BYOB.

Dan Nakamura is my hero.

I didn't know this was coming out, but now I'm really excited for it.

Did you like/dislike Lovage?

Also, lzep, did you pick up Mr. Show Season 4. I was thinking about you when I bought my copy yesterday.

I WORSHIP Lovage. I went to 9, yes 9 different stores to find that sucker the day it came out. And that album introduced me to the talents Jennifer Charles, prompting me to track down everything she's ever done with her band Elysian Fields. Heck, Elysian Fields has become one of my fav bands.

As for Mr. Show...oh hells yes. Those 2 discs were in my dvd changer before I even opened the package on the Star Wars set...

BUMP

I added cd artwork and tracklisting to the first post. Looks like it's still a go for November 9th.

The first disc was a dream come true for since it was a meeting of two of my favorite producers (Prince Paul is a GOD). It didn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to this one, as well.

I know no one asked me, but Lovage was excellent, too. I ordered it directly from the label and got a bonus disc. The instrumental version is still on my list to purchase. Anyone actually "make love to their old lady" to that disc?

Sounds fantastic. Love the title. The first album was brilliant and is still in heavy rotation over here. I'm there.

There's clips of four songs available at HipHopSite.com. Sounds great - loooove what I've heard of the song w/ De La Soul.

BTW, they're promotion for this includes a copy of a Prince Paul DVD. It's some sort of mock Cribs thing (I think). They previously offered it with a purchase of the Politics of the Business instrumental, but I passed that time. Hope it's worth the extra $$$ (also finally snagged the new De La w/ the promo CD of exclusives).

Anyone know production credits? Did they co-produce each track or did they each do individual ones?

I've heard it. I think I need to listen to it a couple more times before I can form a solid opinion.

I have the album and it's pretty good. My favorite track so far is the duet, of sorts, between Pharrell and Julee Cruise. I didn't really love the first album as much as respect the weirdness of it, but I really like the sound of this one.

I think it might be more listenable overall than the first album. On first listen I'd give it a definite thumbs up.

I think I prefer it to the first album. Seems to flow better.

Skits are funny once but grow tiresome when you jsut want to hear the music. Maybe just too many. And I hate when they are tacked onto the end of songs. They should at least give them their own track.

After thoroughly listening to this, I think it's an improvement upon the first disc, but I can't say why.

Automator and Paul are simply the shit. That's all there is to it.

Is this the album to feature Cedric, and Omar from The Mars Volta? I read some where that they were going to appear on some HBMS album just not sure which one.

I was flipping through the radio this morning and Mancow ( ) played a track off of this album. I think it was "The World's Gone Mad". Great track, but Mancow ruined it by saying: "they used to be Gorillaz, but now they're Handsome Boy Modeling School" (derisive snicker from his lackeys). I f'ing hate that guy.
