So does anyone know where you can get scans of the origials yet? I know they aren't out until tomorrow though.

Those covers are horrid, heinous, and tragic, looking like they were created by Lucas' adopted children and reek of amateurish photoshop nuances and are of terrible resolution quality....which when created, were not done using the same template becasue the spines do not properly line up (looking at them sitting on my table becasue I swapped them out immediately for my custom covers)

why on earth would you want scans of those, when there are so many different excellent custom creations for them?

i agree they are horrible they dont even match up with episode one, and two and probley three, where as the widescreen are gold, but on the orgional trilogy they are silver!

Did anyone happen to buy the fullscreen dvd. The only reason I would ask is because I am curious to know whether or not the spines of the full screen match the prequels or are a different shade of gold or something.

Yeah....I kind of which the widescreen versions had gold instead of silver so they matched the prequel DVDs.

I didn't ask (because I don't care) for your opinions on the covers. I asked if anyone knew where they could be obtained.

But since you mention it, where are links of good custom covers?

Those are not mine, I just posted links that were already posted on other Star Wars forums.

There is also a torrent download of 250 Star Wars Hi-Res DVD Covers collection (809 MB) that has been made avilable by fans who created them.

Hmm ... I can't remember posting em on that domain ... I had a link on that site once, but due to excessive bandwith usage had to take it down.

PS. Could you tell me where the link is you're referring to on the OT forum ?

Are you saying that those are covers you created?

I found the links in the Star Wars DVD Covers thread on the forum in the following link, can't remember which page though.

Ah ok, if you want me to remove those links, let me know. I was just trying to help out the people looking for SW covers.

All those covers were nice. I'm not even a big fan of Star Wars but if I saw them at the store with those covers I'd probly buy them.

The studio release covers look like they got hit with the ugly stick!

JUPITER PRIME, is there any way I can download those covers you made? They're some of the best customs I've seen.

I think I will go Joe Sixpack for a minute and buy the fullscreen boxset just so I can scan the covers, then sell it on ebay.

Let's see, so if you buy the widescreen movies, you get gold for Episodes 1-3, and silver for 4-6.

Fullscreen is blue (actually just the top banner and THX banner on the bottom, the logos and spines are still gold) for Episodes 1-3 and gold for 4-6. So you'll have matching all gold spines only if you purchase the inferior fullscreen versions of the SW movies..

Also, am I the only one who is (kinda) mad that Episode I's top banner said, "Every Saga Has a Beginning", while all of the others simply say "Widescreen"? That's only because Episode I was released only in widescreen at first.

Definately. Apart from the art on the front and back it's finished ... up till now I haven't been able to find anything decent in hi-res though :(
