Television Christmas Classics DVDs have new packaging this year!

I had bought the 3 DVD pack last year of Rudolph/Frosty/Santa Claus is Coming to Town for like $40 that came it the 3 keep cases all in a thin cardboard sleeve.

Even though I usually prefer keepcases, I always felt this was not a very nice looking presentation for these classics. I was at Costco last week and noticed that they now all come together in a nice leather bound-looking hardcover book case. It now also includes a CD of the music too and was packaged with a Rudolph action figure for $26.99. So I double-dipped for the packaging alone (that bottom part is just a cardboard sleeve):

One thing I must add though is that the CD is all new recordings. It sounds like crap. I thought it would be the original recordings.

The DVDs have all-new disk art too that looks pretty cool.

Are these discs identical to the old versions?

The Rudolph disc had extra features, not sure about the others.

I'm glad I didn't buy these last year. More for less right?

I'll have to pop them in to compare, but I'm assuming the content is the same. Rudolph on both versions has a running time of 135 minutes, and I know just the special alone isn't that long.

The menus, music and everything listed are identical on both Rudolph DVDs. Its just got better disk art on the new version.

Seems like it's just cheaper. No reason to double dip.

My local Wal-Mart is carring this new version. I got to say that it looks pretty nice. I have the dvds but separately. I will be picking up this set before the end of the holidays.

Does anyone know if Romie-0 and Julie-8 is available on DVD in any of these animation compilation discs? It's one of my favourites from when I was a kid, and I haven't seen it in over a decade.

Wow,

More for less! I really wanted to get this set around 2002, but I am glad I held out for a better release.

My Costco had a similar set last year. I am not sure if the packaging was the new one, but it was bundled with the CD. Not sure about the Rudolph figure either.
