Star Trek: The Original Series - The Complete First Season[/I]
why aren't the shows in order on the discs? disc 1 has episodes 2, 6, 7, 8. where is the cage? will that be included at all on these 3 sets?

I believe the order on the discs is the order they were aired in, not the production order... but the episodes are numbered by production order. Made me scratch my head at first too.
"The Cage" is not included on the set, perhaps because it never actually aired. That's too bad, as it would have made a nice extra. I have no idea if it'll be included in Season 2 or 3, or as a separate release someday like they did on VHS. We do see footage from it in the special features, as they talk about how "The Menagerie" was made out of "The Cage" material.

The Cage was released last in Paramount's individual Star Trek TOS discs, and I expect that it will be included as the final episode in the third season box set as well.
