i work midnight shifts now, so before football season i'd be up all night saturday and go to sleep sunday morning 9-10am.. all night saturday (after a night out on the town) i'd watch a few movies..
now with football i sleep in as close to 1pm as i can, and wake up to watch 3 football games before heading into work sunday nights!

Not really. It cuts down on other TV watching more than anything else. For the most part, I'll watch four games a week. One being whoever the Redskins are playing (Also end up going to a few of their games each season) and usually the Eagles/Cowboys games each week along with Monday Night Football.
As the season ends, I'll also add whoever the wildcard contenders are. Plus whatever good matchups are on any given week. Aww, who am I kidding. I barely have time to eat on weekends during football season, much less watch DVDs.

Not w/ PiP I usually turn the CC on for the game, and listen to a commentary through the stereo. Then again I'm not a huge fan of football... I mean I'll watch it but I don't really follow it (couldn't tell you who's on what team or how any particular team [including the home team]is doing at any given moment).

I watch any football game on tv before something on DVD that I can fire up at any time. I will sit down from 8am-9pm on Sundays with a beer in hand. I LOVE THE NFL!

Hell yeah, in the offseason I may watch 8-9 movies in a weekend. At the least 3-4. This weekend I am going to tailgate at the alma mater this afternoon and then catch the game, come hme a drink and watch more football and maybe even check in on the Red Sox. Then tommrow I have the Titans game which unfortunately I will not be attending in person because it is to damn expensive. Plus I have the chase for the championship. If Hockey was going to start so I would have Preds games to attend, I would say that we were going into the best time of the year for sports guys. (MLB Postseason, NASCAR Chase, NFL & NHL, plus college football)
My backlog shall once more balloon up.

Sure does. I can watch a dvd anytime, but games have to be watched live.
If hockey wasn't locked out I would be watching that too, which cuts into more dvd watching since they play games everyday of the week.
Except this year those damn greedy bastards!

Yes, I am going to the Florida Tennessee game today and so there will be less time to watch dvds. I don't get to watch many dvds during football season. I have homework from school that is time consuming. So, I use whatever free time I have left to go to the Tennessee games, watch them on tv, or listen to the games on the radio. At the rate I am going now I will never get all of my dvds watched. I have about 30 tv dvd boxsets that I need to watch along with Jurassic Park 2 and 3 and Star Wars whenever amazon ships it.

I haven't watched much football in the last 10 years since the Rams and Raiders left So Cal. Since the NFL doesn't think its important to have a football team in LA/OC, I don't feel it's that important for me to watch.
I have zero interest in watching another city's team. And there is no way I'd choose a football game over a good DVD. Besides, even if I did, it wouldn't effect anything on weekdays.
Baseball, there's a different story. 162 Angel games, 81 of which I am actually in attendance for, makes it tough to keep up with my DVD's. After watching THX-1138 last night, I have 4 unwatched DVD's, which will sit as I go through the other Lucas movies I have in preraration for Tuesday. Of course I'll have to hold off on watching the Trilogy somewhat...the Angels are home this week.

Being that I play football through most of the summer and fall... yes. I feel like I'm pretty behind, but it isn't something I worry when I'm busy.

Yeap...well all sports do, now that Baseball is winding down and the playoffs are around the corner, then even more so.
Oh well, there are only so many hours in a day...
