well i got the tv for 2499 at circuit city. they had it on sale for 25xx.xx. I had them price match bb for since they had it for 2699. or something like that plus 10% off. I also got the 24 months no interest first time in cc history. I used to work for them a long time ago. So when I saw that I knew I had to get it. I also picked up the z-line stand the palisades series one. Frigging thing was a pain in the arse to carry upstairs.

I just got the same set from sears but in the 50 inch for 2350.00?? I think you over paid alot. You got 30 days to make it right.
I used pricegrabber.com to find a local store sell the 50 inch took the print out to sears which the set was on sale for 3 grand. My print out said 2400.00. They beat it by 10% which was about 55.00 bucks. Got the service from sears for 5 years for 515.00 BUT sears covers the 300 dollar bulb and CC dont. I would think about getting from sears. If you blow 4 bulbs in 5 years thats 1200.00 just on blubs.

the problem I am having is the picture is really grainy when I am watching a dvd. Am I just being picky, I have most of my dvd's playing via the progessive player I am wondering is there some settings I could play with to enhance the picture. I have it running through component cables now.

Probably. So far I prefer Avia but haven't tried out the DVE that I got quite a while ago. My set doesn't ever seem to need improvement so I haven't been motivated to break out DVE.

Bulb life depends on how much Tv you watch. The bulb in my PT-50LC13 (Panasonic 50" LCD-RP) is rated at 10,000 hours. I've got 6,500 hours on it with a little over 15 months of use. New bulbs are about $300. Sometimes the new bulb will be covered by an extended service contract. (Which is just about the only reason to get an extended service contract.)
In an informal and quick survey down at HH Gregg's, while viewing the screens from 2"' away, I found that the LCD-RP sets have just about the worst screendoor effect, followed by the DLP's and then the LCOS sets. SD up close on an LCD-RP can look grainy. I usually sit about 9' back and it's not so bad back there. I don't really mind it at all. I'm not sure Avia or DVE would help. (And I've heard DVE is a little hard tounderstand and use.)
