Portuguese TV treated viewers this morning to a performance clip of
"Vogue" from yesterday night's show. It was not the usual news report on
the show - they simply played "Vogue" up until the end of the 2nd
chorus, without any commentary or interruption!
What is also interesting, is that this footage was provided to the
Portuguese channel RTP in 16:9 format - while the usual concert footage
submitted to medias over the course of this tour has been in 4:3 format
(the huge projection screens which air this footage at the venue are
4:3).
Yesterday HDTV cameras were used and the show was filmed by "HB11". The
image on the side screens were all compressed (she looked thiner) 'cause
the screens are 4:3 but the images 16:9. It looks from this then that
the DVD filming was done 16:9 (and if this is the case, this would be
Madonna's first concert DVD to be presented in the 16:9 widescreen
format).
No word yet on when this will be released. The CBS broadcast of the show has been cancelled so hopefully that will push up the release date...possibly to coincide with her next single. Rumor has it that a bigger boxed set will include the Blonde Ambition World Tour on DVD.
More to come...

I read on one of the fan sites that the anticpated release date in the *UK* was 11/22. However, no official US release date has been announced. I hope it does see the light of day. This was one amazing show!

Anyone know why did the CBS concert got cancelled?

They would not show it with no commercials, so Madge backed down.

I don't think it was Madonna backing down. It was CBS. She said I want 2 1/2 hours with no commercials and they said "we want 2 hours WITH commercials." That would have edited the show.
So it's done.

SOT: wasn't there talk some months ago about releasing a live DVD from the Blonde Ambition tour? I'd love to see that performance. We got teased by it throughout "TOD", but I'd love to see a whole performance with the complete setlist.

That's kind of strange. CBS probably could have found someone to sponsor the entire block. Similar to what was done with Schindler's List or the 24 season premiere last year.

It was a ridiculous idea going with CBS anyway. The show would've had to have been edited (either for profanity or for time) so why bother? HBO should have jumped on this when they had the chance. Dumb dumb dumb.
As for BA, see above. The rumors are that it will be released along with this concert in a boxed set. But again...totally rumors.

And here we go again...now it's the Fall...
And some news on the extras...
- 20 minute featurette entitled: Jamie King: Creating a Re-Invention
- tourbook gallery
- And most interestingly something that is described as 5 Stage Film Features.... could this be the background videos we all want to see?

Sorry to drudge this up but just in case anyone was wondering...it ain't looking good. I have some friends who spoke with Jonas (the director of I'm Going To Tell You A Secret) and it looks like they don't want anything to compete with the movie right now. I'm assuming THAT will get a DVD release but don't look for it to compete with the actual tour. Every single number is chopped up in the movie (whereas truth or dare had, for the most part, complete numbers). And then she's going on tour next summer, so i doubt that it will get a proper release then.
We may be looking at a "Blonde Ambition" type situation. Fortunately, back then they actually had laserdiscs and several different TV presentations. This time, we get nothing. :(

More news...hopefully it's true.
31-10-2005 - Denmark Releases
According to the official release plan from Warner, Madonna's next releases in Denmark other than her new single and album on November 7 and 14 respectively, is the release of the RIT documentary on November 14 and the release of the RIT DVD on December 12.
Details are currently being discussed about releasing I'm Going To Tell You A Secret on DVD, the plan is to hopefully release the DVD late November/early December.
The tour DVD is currently scheduled for release in Spring 2006 (although as we have seen before, this is always subject to change!)

Just thought I'd drop in here and say hello seeing as how poor digitalfreaknyc has single-handedly been keeping this thread alive since September of 2004! -eek-
