I really disagree on the United States of Leland
Wow, 2.5 stars for one of maybe 3 movies that have come out this year, that were truly worth watching.
Let me put it this way, if you liked "The Life of David Gale" and "Frailty" you will enjoy this movie, if these are not your cup o' tea, then avoid it. It took the best components of these two movies and melded them together. The cast was spectacular, the acting superb, and the imagery was very good. The only glaring negative in this film, was the shortness of the movie. There could have been more character development and more interaction between certain characters, who eventually come together in the resolution.
To put it simply, I rank this in my Top 3 of the year, with Butterfly Effect (director's ending) and Return of the King...another movie worth seeing is Bookies.
And before i get chastized about my top 3, let me say this...as a whole Kill Bill was excellent, but the sum of two parts, left a lot to be desired. I also felt passion was a Mel Gibson political production and was not an overall fan of the movie, as many pundits are.
