By Best TV Dad, I mean the guy who loved his family the most and demonstrated over the run of the series.
You have the obvious choices like Ward Cleaver and Cliff Huxtable, but my pick for the guy who loved his TV family the most is.....
Al Bundy.
No matter what happened, Al Bundy was always there for his kids. There are a bunch of eps of Married with Children that illustrate this but a few stand out. When Al went to the dealership to get back his old crappy dodge and gave up a new car just to get a photo of his family back(plus a stash if Bigguns Magazines). When he beat up Kelly's cheating boyfriend in the movie theatre. Taking Bud to a strip club for his birthday. Beating down a group of guys to get Peggy a valentines card.
Now thats a guy who cares about his family.
Any other nominees?

My Two Dads - There were two of them so it MUST be better (plus it was revolutionary to have homosexual parents in an 80s sitcom!)

Gotta go with widower Danny Tanner on Full House. Dude kept a super-clean house for a single guy, plus put up with a bad stand-up comic and an Elvis wannabe as roommates, while still raising three girls through boy problems, driving tests, and everything in between. I pine for the glory days of Bob Saget.
Either him or Homer Simpson. It's a tough choice :D

Mike Brady - He was a calm, dependable, loving father who could discipline his kids and let them know how they did wrong without screaming at them. Always ready with a wise decision, except for letting that fucking gnat Oliver into the joint.

Not to create a Trek thread, but here's the first that came to my mind...
Random imdb.com fact: The character 'George Bluth Sr.' was ranked #1 in TV Guide's list of the "50 Greatest TV Dads Who Have Sported The Orange Jump-Suit In The Big House" (20 June 2004 issue).

No offense to Sisko, but I'd have to pick Rom. Always submissive and easily manipulated, unless you threaten or bring up Nog.
