I "needed" another TV, so I bought this one to replace the aging, somewhat contrast-challenged 27" Mitsubishi I had been using, which is now relegated to spare room duty. This is a 24" TV, and it has a built-in DVD and VHS. MSRP is $499, seems to sell for around $450 online.

Good ol' Sears had a display model for $257. I also had a handy $30 off $250 coupon, so I ended up getting it for around $240 including tax. The helpful sales guy even found the remote for it -- I was going to buy the TV even if I had to order the remote (or use a universal), so this was an added bonus.

Hoorah.

Other than being a floor model, the one other downside is the lack of an S-video or component video input. I just have to hope the DVD player holds up, but I'm sure I won't use it that often.

I really hadn't been looking for a TV, and only saw this deal because I was helping a friend shop for one this past weekend. Sometimes a deal is too hot for me not to somehow justify spending the $.
