At my local blockbuster store they don't have the latest special edition dvds of predator,lost boys,and goodfellas for rent.they are only to buy.Is blockbuster policy to open one copy of a dvd and make it a rental copy at customer request.

If there are new releases of movies already available on DVD, Blockbuster USUALLY doesn't rent out the new versions. They just use their old version.

I have seen a few exceptions, but it is pretty rare. Try Netflix.
