Hope to pick it up this weekend (assuming it's on sale at Fry's). If so, I'm up for a few Road Rage matches this weekend.

It's an excellent game, although EA needs to fix the online servers (deja vu ala NCAA Football 2005). I do have a short take up on the site I write for and I'd be happy to link it if it's okay.

If anyone was interested in the PS2 version, I found that it's been dropped at Outpost to $31.99 + shipping.

I picked this up for the Xbox yesterday ... and let's just say I did not get much sleep last night at all. Damn, this game is addictive!
I can't put it down. The game feels real damn fast, what a sensation.

After approx six hours of game play I have no complaints yet.

I'm just itching to get home from work today so I can play some more.

This the the best racing/driving game I have ever played. That includes GTA.

I've got Radiohead's Airbag and Killer Cars playing on my Xbox's custom soundtrack when I play this. Very appropriate.

sample lyrics from Killer Cars:

Too hard on the brakes again
What if these brakes just give in?
What if they don't get out of the way?
What if there's someone overtaking?
I'm going out for a little drive
And it could be the last time you see me alive
There could be an idiot on the road
The only kick in life is pumping his steel

Wrap me up in the back of the trunk
Packed with foam and blind drunk
They won't ever take me alive
'Cause they all drive killer cars

This game is really sweet, had to pull myself away ealier to go to a lab and then do some homework but the sense of speed is so fun.

Weaving through cars while boosting and trying to take down your opponents is a one-of-a-kind experience.

Not too mention I only paid $14.88 for the game using a raincheck at target!

The Xbox version supposedly looks a little bit better than the PS2 version. No big differences though. If you have both, get the Xbox version for the in game 5.1 sound and widescreen.

Burnout 2 supported 480p and 16:9 video support in both PS2 and Xbox versions. Gamespot's review says that Burnout 3 supports 480p only in the Xbox version, altho I think both still support 16:9. Can anyone confirm this? I would prefer the PS2 version for the Logitech wheel support, but if the graphics don't support 480p I might get the Xbox version instead.

edit: never mind, I must have read the gamespot review wrong, cuz it clearly states that both versions support 16:9 and 480p.

The big difference with the two versions (PS2 vs. Xbox) is that with the PS2 version you're stuck with the absolutely shitty soundtrack (2 good songs out of 47). With the Xbox you can listen to your own kick-ass music, since it uses the custom soundtrack feature.

Damn you people. I went and picked it up. I was going to wait since I still need to beat Tales of Symphonia, but I have been looking forward to this title for a while.
