DVD Talk review of 'Shogun's Samurai - The Yagyu Clan Conspiracy'

I read David Walker's DVD review of Shogun's Samurai - The Yagyu Clan Conspiracy at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=12192 and...

This movie is much better than this review indicates. If you enjoy samurai films, then you should definitely add this to your collection.

He gave it three-and-a-half stars. Seemed he enjoyed it to me.

Yea, I did not mean to imply that it was a negative review, but it's easily one of the top samurai films ever and deserves 5 stars. I just don't want people to casually pass it over.

The film is presented in Japanese, with optional English subtitles that are easy to read, and don’t interfere with the picture.
Is that code for "subtitles are in the matte?" If so, please just say that because for some of us, subtitles that are in the matte are a significant detractor - for example if you have a 2.35:1 screen, or if you manually cover the matte area with actual matting material like black cardboard in order to improve contrast.

Besides, for some of us, having the subs in the picture really helps because it means we don't have to look away from the image and risk missing something in order to read the dialog.
