Silent Hill 1 on PS2 - can't save??

It says there are no memory cards in the slots... but I assure you there are. What to do?

Do you have a PS1 card in? It is a PS1 game, right?

Is it a third party card? My 3rd party PS1 memory card doesn't work in my PS2, even though it worked fine on my PS1. I had to buy a Sony card to save PS1 games on my PS2.

As DRG stated, make sure you are using a PS1 Memory Card. You need a PS1 Memory card to save PS1 games and PS2 memory cards to save PS2 games.

I think you can get them for under $10 nowadays. I picked up a used one for $5 at EBGames of Gamestop, can't remember which. As I mentioned before though, I'd advise that you pick up an official Sony one just in case. I'm not sure which 3rd party ones are compatible with the PS2, if any, as mine wasn't.

It's cool - my roommate had an old one he let me borrow.

Dude, these things only hold like 128kb or something. Crazy.

Silent Hill looks like crap by the way... I hear it'll look better if I play it on my Dreamcast - this true?

There's actually an unauthorized version of the Bleem emulator for Dreamcast floating around. It works with some Playstation games and does enhance the graphics of games.

Well I can see how you could make that mistake though - I didn't even know I needed a PS1 memory card for the save thing.

Speaking of Bleem, does it let you save to the VMUs? Like, would Silent Hill 1 look better and allow me to save if I used bleem and my dreamcast?

Bleemcast is pretty buggy. I'm not sure how Silent Hill runs on it, but there's alot of stuff that either has glitches or doesn't run at all.
