It seems Amazon is reducing the discount on many preorder items.
Where is was standard to have a 30%, more items seem to be offered at 13% to 18% off.

An example is Volumes 1 and 2 of Season 2 of Lost In Space.

Volume 1 is selling for $27.99 30% off

Volume 2 is selling for $32.78 18% off

The Office Special $21.73 13% off

Damn Yankees $17.38 13% off when this was first up for preorder it was 30%, a few days later they changed it to 13%

Amazon nearly always dramatically reduces the discount of an item after it has been released. Sometimes the pre-order discount of 30% will hold through the day of release, but sometimes it drops off at 3 A.M. ET when Amazon.com hits the new business day and then they lower the discount to the "normal" price.

amazon prices fluctuate. I remember I ordered the Monster (Theron) 2-pack a few months back for $25 with STL. About a week later the price rose to $32.

One week ago I ordered The Vanishing with STL. The price decreased by about two dollars a few days after my order, so I ended up losing money.

If you call them and complain about the price decrease they will usually credit you the difference. At least they always have for me. May depend on the CSR.

It just can be very annoying to wait for someone to STL and when someone does to find the price has gone up and the DVD is no longer a bargain even with STL. This recently happened to me with the Flintstones Season 2 and Top Cat season 1.

Oh well this is my problem not their's.
