Finally, I can get rid of my VHS copy of No Cure For Cancer. Denis Leary's two comedy specials are being released on 9-14!

I also have No Cure for Cancer on CD and although I like the two songs that don't appear on the video I was disappointed that a good 20 minutes is cut from the original film.

I glad they are bringing this on dvd. I was waiting for this for a long time.

I WISHED they added the MTV unplugged show he did in 1993 as an extra. I posted the info below for those who didn't know Denis did a MTV unplugged show.

(Copied this from http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/EpisodeGuideSummary/showid-3400/season-4)

Comedian Denis Leary, one of the hottest comics of the nineties, unplugged his unique comedic style at a studio in Los Angeles for the first-ever music/comedy edition of the series. Leary combines original comic material with music to deliver selections from his January '93 album release No Cure for Cancer. Songs include "Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up," "Elvis and I," "The Kennedys," "Immigrant Song," "Love Boat" and "The Man in My Little Girl's Life."

An excerpt from the MTV Unplugged book... "Besides the biting commentary, Denis also arranged a short parody that sounded like a bunch of R.E.M. songs thrown together. The only problem was that the show's breakout moment-- a cheerful little tune called 'Asshole'-- could only be shown on the network after 11:00 p.m. So if you ever tune in for a repeat performance, tune in late."

Set List:
Is She Really Going Out With Him? (Written by Joe Jackson)
9 a.m.
Love Boat
Immigrant Song (Written by Robert Plant and Jimmy page)
The Kennedys
Man in My Little Girl's Life/Van Halen/Stutter (Written by Mary Candy, Eddie V. Deane, and Gloria Adele Shain)
Traditional Irish Folk
Song Tequila (Written by Chuck Rio)
R.E.M.
Life's Gonna Suck
Elvis and I
Is that All There Is?
Asshole

Featuring:
Denis Leary - stand-up comedy, vocals

Chris Phillips - bass, guitar, vocals
Adam Roth - guitar, mandolin, vocals
Charley Roth - piano, keyboards, bass, vocals
Peter Mark - drums, percussion
Eric Schrody -guitar, vocals (on "Asshole")

Recorded 2/6/93 at Universal Studios - Los Angeles

doc Same here. Great for Roadtrips! (I used to listen to them when I'd do the I-5 "SoCal-to-NoCal" drive to visit my parents.)

I'm really looking forward to seeing these shows unedited (rather than the Comedy Central versions.)

I was just looking at other regions for a copy of No Cure for Cancer. I am very psyched this one was finally announced. Not sure if I will buy Lock 'n Load. It was pretty good, but I don't think it was anywhere near as laugh out loud funny as No Cure.
