around the 40:10 mark in this episode ("The Man Trap", Disc 1), I hear two beeps while Dr. McCoy (or rather, the salt vampire impersonating him) is talking. On the one hand, it sounds like any old Star Trek sound effect, but on the other, it's the only time that it happens in the scene and I can't figure out what it's meant to be. Does anyone else hear this? Do you know what it is? I'm hoping it's a random SFX and not a weird sound mixing glitch.

Well, I watched Man Trap last night and didn't notice anything amiss with the audio or video. And that was with my first set, in which this disc had some kind of damage on it. Also didn't see or hear anything wrong in Where No Man Has Gone Before.

2 of the discs in my set had noticeable damage so I took them back.

Well it didn't really seem amiss per se...the beep fit right in with the sound design of the show. But since there was no reason for that beep...and given Paramount's lack of quality control...I thought I'd see if anyone has noticed it or remembers it as something that's supposed to be there.
Has anyone gone back to the 40:10 mark to see if you hear it?
