in a 10 team yahoo league...

2QB 2RB 2WR 1RB/WR TE D

my RB are:

holmes
dillon
staley
Hearst

my WR are:

Horn
Mason
McCareins
Driver
Roy Williams

i was just offered shaun alexander and joey galloway for priest holmes... thinking about it... would you guys do it?

NO

but then I don't think galloway is worth much.

No.

Holmes is far & away the best fantasy player in the league esp. in TD leagues.

Alexander is nice but definitely no Holmes.

Galloway is garbage. Horn & Mason are both much better than Galloway.

Assuming this is a redraft league, no way.

Does he have (substantially) better WRs than Galloway? If so, propose a counter-offer.

From my draft sheets you'd be trading the #2 back (yes I have LT slightly ahead Holmes) for the #4 and picking up a WR near #50 who happens to share a bye with one of your top two WR. Stat wise you wouldn't be giving up too much production, but I would hold out for better WR and one that doesn't share a bye with Horn or Mason.

Post his team. You should try to get a better WR.

Also since you have a flex starting option (possibly start 3 RBs - always preferred), what about his other RBs? Holmes for Alexander and another nice RB would work as well - that way you could start Alexander, Dillon, and another quality RB.

yeah i was def. leaning towards no... but wanted some oppinions.. this is actually his trade after offering me a lousy trade a while back... i told him his trade was rediculous and he told me i was rediculous...

here's what he's got:

mcnabb
a. brooks
k. robinson
s. alexander
m. williams
k. mangum
c. rogers
c. brown
t. jones
j galloway
t. rattay
d. tarrell
i. mili

i believe his original proposition to me was moe williams and charles rogers for priest.

I'd be tempted to do it for Rogers and Alexander.

my QBs could probably use the most work.. garcia, mccown and harrington...

Moe Williams and Charles Rogers for Priest? What a shitty offer.

Rogers and Alexander would be a bit better. See if he would throw in Brooks. Hell, ask for McNabb.

Fuck it then. This guy has no intention of making a reasonable deal with you then.

I don't see why moorhed should blow this off completely just because the 1st offer was silly... Turn it around, fleece the guy who thought he could fleece you!

This was one completely shitty offer followed up by a slightly less shitty offer. This guy won't be fleeced. I've dealt with owners like this for years. Best thing to do is to laugh in their face about the offers. That gets their attention and will encourage them to make good offers down the road particularly when they are desparate.

BTW, the mods may want to get the FF threads organized. Maybe a weekly advice thread or something because otherwise, given the number of people here who play FF, there are going to be dozens of threads on FF every week.

I'd offer Priest & Garcia for Alexander and McNabb. You can tell him that he already has Brooks so he doesn't need 2 good QBs. Also, tell him that Priest Holmes is by far the best fantasy player out there and to get him you're gonna have to give up quality.

Last year, Garcia and McNabb had pretty similar stats. I wouldn't offer that.

McNabb > Garcia

I still probably wouldn't do the trade but this is assuming that McNabb has a rebound year. The first half of last year he was worse than Drew Brees. I'm also assuming that Garcia's #s will go down.

Frankly, I wouldn't trade Priest for anyone unless my team had no one but him and even then I'd have to get like Ahman Green and Rudi Johnson or something like that.

I'm a RB whore btw. (E.g. In my draft, 19 slots, 6 bench spots. I had 6 RBs, 6 WRs, 1 QB, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 D, 1 DB, 1 DL....meaning that my bench spots were all RBs and WRs).
