He may be counting his money from Bad Boy II DVD sales.

Nothing really, it's not like he just stopped making movies a la Chris Tucker. It hasn't been that long since he did a film

I heard Tucker was in africa doing humanitarian stuff.

I can't stand Lawrence's style of comedy I wouldn't mind if he retired.

I was hoping someone would have wonderful news about a sequel to either Big Momma's House or Black Knight, but alas. Imagine the possibilities! Big Momma's [INSERT LOCATION HERE]... the zany madcap antics they could have! He could take down the mafia, a drug cartel, or even a terrorist ring! Nobody messes with Big Momma!

And the Black Knight character, why he could travel to other eras. A Black gladiator? Black samurai? A black... get this... cowboy! Ha ha, it's hard not to laugh at even the idea of this, but coupled with Martin Lawrences's comic talents? My sides hurt just thinking of it!

Hopefully, if we all say a little prayer tonight before we go to bed, the cinema gods might finally make our collective dreams come true and grant us these film treasures.

Black Knight was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen in a theater.

Ask and you shall receive on 8/23 Dark Horizons posted this little tidbit from the Hollywood Reporter:

Big Momma's House 2: "John Whitesell is stepping into "Big Momma's House 2." The director, whose work includes "Malibu's Most Wanted", will direct the Regency Enterprises/20th Century Fox sequel to the 2000 Martin Lawrence hit. Lawrence is reprising his role as an FBI agent who goes undercover as a loud-mouthed matriarch not afraid to throw her ample weight around..."

I agree about bad boys. I just saw Bad Boys 2 and I really dunno why so many folks hated it. It's a mindless action comedy that's fun to watch cuz stuff blows up.

I like many of Martin Lawrence's movies and I think he is very funny. Bad Boys, Bad Boys II, Blue Streak, Life, and Nothing to Lose are all great. National Security was ok too.

Oh it is fun to watch when stuff blows up. I just didn't like the other hour and a half of Will Smith arguing with Martin Lawrence, and that ultra lame subplot with the sister. Cut the sister out, cut the non-drama and "witty (not)" banter, and stick with the action.

The action was excellent.

And Martin Lawrence...yeah, dont' really find him funny here either.

Martin Lawrence not funny and not surprisingly a huge prick in real life. Will Smith on the other hand is a cool guy to talk to.

How can you cut out Gabrielle Union?

There is a script for Blue Streak 2: More BS. I don't care to read it tho.

Oh, and here's the thing about Mah-EEn. Like Danny in Last Action Hero, he's the comedy side kick. He's not leading man material.

I think his best work has always come as a side kick. Boomerang, Bad Boys, House Party... of course, he always plays the same characters. Token angry black man.

His sitcom was... IS hilarious. He's not as good on the big screen for two reasons.

1.He chooses bad movies ($$$$$)
2. Martin has to be taken in with 30 minute installments, 2 hours can be a bit much.

I enjoy several of his movies, though.

National Security was SO bad, the wife and I turned it off half way through. Every line out of his mouth in the movie was a racial slam, and we can only handle so many racist cracks in a row. Not to mention that the police would believe a guy that got kicked out of the academy vs. a current officer? Stupid, just stupid.

If he's going to keep doing movies like this, I don't care if he never makes another one.

I like him when he does buddy movies (Bad Boys) or can play off of somebody like on his sitcom. When he's by himself, he's horrible.
