When the president of the IOC during the closing ceremonies said the Athens Games were officially closed, that was sad.

Now you won't be able to flip to NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, or Bravo to watch Olympic coverage.

No more of the John Williams Olympic themes to get you pumped up or medal stand ceremonies with the US and anthems from other countries.

No more Bob Costas unless you watch Inside the NFL.

How would you compare this Olympics to the 92, 96, and 2000 games?

What made this Olympics special was that it was set at Athens the birthplace of the Olympics and looking at the magnificient Greek structures like the Acropolis and the Parthenon.

Also Andre Ward, Kerri Walsh, Natalie Coughlin, and the other Bay Area Olympians represented us well.

now we can get back to some REAL sports, where there are no judges except the line judge :)

Which oddly enough, is the same thing the US Olympic basketball team said. :)

Well I'm a little sad, cause I know I'll have to wait several years for another one, although Winter Olympics is only 18 months away. But I will have plenty of free time now and football season is always great.

It's always a lil sad but now I have more free time. I can go to the gym regularly again, watch movies, and go partying again.

And like others have said, football season is around the corner and the Winter Olympics will be here in 1.5 years.

I'm a bit sad that it is over but it will be nice to get a regular night's sleep again. :)

This Olympics was better than previous olympics because the competition was better and it was broadcast in High Def. That was SWEET. I just hope that the closing ceremony is in High Def tonight.

Here comes the NFL. :)

No, but I did feel that way after the 1984 Olympics. I was still living in LA at the time and we went to a lot of events. It was a great time.

No, I hardly watched any and college football gets in full swing next weekend.

Yes! Especially since I missed so many events that weren't as popular that I enjoy (synchronized swimming being one) and missed lots of the others falling asleep.

And I'm not an avid sports fan so I have no football season to cushion the blow.

I suspect that ESPN's coverage of the Little League World Series had its worst ratings in quite some time. I know I normally watch a fair amount of it and watched none at all until the final game.

I also suspect that video rental revenues were way down for that 2 week plus period.

Not so much...Because the Sox are 4.5 games back and FSU/Miami is just a week away!!!

Is there a toll-free number for end-of-Olympics grief conseling?

I was sorta burned out on em after the first week. I didn't watch much track and field or anything that was going on in week 2. Plus after all those Heather Graham promos, I'm looking forward to the season premiere of Scrubs
