Brazilian marathon runner Vanderlei Lima was attacked and thrown to the ground. Apparently the attacker is an Irish national who also disrupted a Formula 1 race in Great Britain, earlier this year. I really think this guy should be flown to Brazil and released. The Brazilians can deal with him as they please.

He wasn't thrown to the ground but he was in first and finished 3rd. That sucks.
You're right, he wasn't thrown to the ground. But, i still think the attacker should be given to the Brazilians for justice.

That was really bizarre. It was cool that he seemed content with the Bronze though. He didn't let that asshole piss on his parade too much.

I watched the entire marathon, and based on the pacing of the top three runners, and the way things were going...Lima still would have come in third. He would have had a better time, but in terms of medals it would have been the same.

Yep, in a misdemeanor court. One year suspended sentence (meaningless, since he lives in London) and a $3,600 fine.
