How will you watch your shiny, new "Dawn of the Dead: The Ultimate Edition"?

Ok, I have to admit, I have only seen the original (1978) movie once. But, from then on I have been a self-proclaimed 'Dead Head'. I was absolutely enthralled, giddy with excitement and utter enjoyment at the imagery, character portraits, social commentary, and just plain fun-loving gore. I quickly purchased "Night of the Living Dead" and watched with sheer delight as well. Likening the first to a more intense, dreaded sense of doom in a claustrophobia filled atmospheric romp. I bought "Day of the Dead" to complete the trilogy, but have not had a chance to view as of yet.

I promptly bought the "Dawn of the Dead" R2 version with the two other cuts of the film (now sold), but never got around to watching that, though I hungered to.

But, with the new set a little more than a week away I am anticipating a Zombie-filled marathon of some kind. Though it may take me weeks I will eagerly anticipate the next release or cut I choose to delve into. I also have the "Dawn of the Dead" (2004) R3 version which I think fits into this anthological movie undertaking. I really want to see the 04 remake again and mayso prior, but who knows if time will allow.

So, that said...I think I want to pleasantly truck through all 3 cuts of the original b-t-b-t-b. I think it would be real fun to see the variations. But, also want to incorporate the others. I dunno..too much thinking, but I know I will enjoy anyway I go!

So I was curious as to how you all will plan to watch the set. If you had any mapping strategy in mind to watch all 3 cuts, the whole trilogy mixed in or what have you. Anyone, thought about it or care to now and care to share. I'm interested...

I'll probably watch the same old version I've always watched, then skip around the other cuts to see what's different.

Then I'll watch Shaun Of The Dead.

I'll watch the Argento cut first, since its the one i haven't seen. Then probably the theatrical cut, since i watched the 'director' cut not too long ago. Then i'll go through the 4th disc. Then wait a while before watching the director cut.

I will watch it on my boat. I will watch it with a goat! There's nothing like watching Zombies rip a throat!

I've only seen the theatrical, so I'll watch Argento's and the extended cut, then Document of the Dead, then the new documentary

I've never seen the Argento or the Extended cut, so those will be on the chopping block first whenever I pick up the 4 disc.

I've already seen all the cuts years ago. I'll probably check out the theatrical cut first, to see how it sounds/looks, and because I think it is the strongest cut of the film. Then I'll plow through all the extras. I'll probably check out the other cuts later down the road (I'm in no big rush to see them all right away, but it's nice to have all of them in one set)

the older i get, the more time i like to put between viewings of movies.
i burn out to quickly on the same stuff now- not like when i was a kid and could watch the same movie every week for months on end.

i enjyed the hell out of the Divimax release back in March, so i will probably wait until Oct or Dec and then give one of the other versions a spin- then wait a year and watch whichever other one i haven't seen.
i'll probably end up watching the longer Cannes cut first.
i've seen it before and liked it- that way i'll save the shorter, more perfunctory Argento cut (something i haven't seen yet) for when i feel like i'm starting to burn out on the film

before i watch any version, i'll probably just watch the Docs .
at least there is enough substance there to make me feel like i'm getting some value from the set in the mean time.

I plan on watching the original soon, you know before the 7th. Then I have the whole day off from work so I will try to watch it all. Starting with the extended cut of the film then maybe one of the documentaries then the European cut then the next documentary then the two commentaries on the extended cut and european cut....

I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!

Theatrical cut first (Audio commentary) and then the European. I wanna hear what the all-Goblin score sounds like.
