Just wondering how much of the NFL will be in HD this year?
My cable company only has ABC and ESPN in HD (among other channels). Do any of those other HD channels like INHD or HDnet show the NFL? I assume that the answer is no, but INHD shows live baseball....and soccer. I know the NFL is a juggernaut compared to regualr season baseball and the MLS...but I thought I'd ask any HD veterans out there...

Fox is supposed to be debuting their HD service this fall for the NFL, i think.

Unlike other sports, football contracts are pretty much relegated to a few select networks. ABC has Monday night, ESPN Sunday night, and Fox and CBS the Sunday afternoon games per their respective conferences (NFC-Fox, AFC-CBS).
The good news is that you will get two games a week in HD. Bad news is that there's nothing else really. I was in the same boat as you as Comcast didn't carry CBS HD until before last year's Super Bowl. Fox has yet to carry anything in HD to my knowledge, but as Deftones said I think you'll see something this year. Maybe it will be added to your service? Otherwise you won't find anything to my knowledge.

Thanks guys for the help. I would be really happy if I could get either FOX or CBS in HD, but ABC and ESPN are good enough. So far, I have watched more preseason football than any other year just because it's in HD (pathetic? yes.).

if you truly desire it that bad, you could go the DirecTV route: over 175 NFL games in HD this year

Yup and it's going to blow the competition out of the water: latest news is they'll have 6 of their standard 7 games in HD every week.
Check the DirecTV schedule: http://www.directvsports.com/Packages/NFLSundayTicket/Schedule/
As you can see, 8 games for the first two weeks are in HD (they only announce the HD games a few at a time). 6 are from Fox and 2 are from CBS.
Edit: it's my understanding that all Fox affiliates are supposed to be upgrading this summer. If your cable company carries FoxHD, you should be in luck.

Tonight's preseason Fox game is in HD. (I get Redskins/Rams).
PS: Terry Bradshaw in HD is not necessarily a good thing :)

The Redskins/Rams game was not in HD, it was in 480p widescreen.
FOX will offer up to 6 games a week and CBS will offer 2-3 games a week in HD. So if your local market team is NFC, youll probably get to see a lot of their games in high def this year.

If you have the Sunday ticket and an hd tv & receiver.
Directv won't broadcast your local channel in HD. And your local matchup will likely be blocked on the Sunday Ticket channels.

Fox's idea of HD has always been 480p widescreen.

That's supposed to change over the course of this summer and especially in time for opening weekend.
