Anbody running a PS2 on a Samsung or LG
I can get a major discount on Samsung or LG televisions which is why I'm limiting my search right now. On another forum I have read that there is some lag when playing PS2 on Samsung DLP TVs. Is anybody using a Samsung DLP or LG? If so can you give me your comments?

Don't know about LG but a friend of mine returned one of the newer Samsung DLP's because of the lag with PS2 games (Xbox didn't have the same lag). Both systems were using component outputs, but obviously only the Xbox was putting out 480p for most games.

I am using a 61in Samsung DLP for Xbox. No lag.
Due to the faroudja (sp?) chip in DLP tvs that upscales the picture to 720p, there is some lag with PS2 (since most PS2 games are 480i).
It probably will not be an issue with newer consoles like next PS system and xbox2, but PS2 users should be warned for now.
I also do not know if this is limited to Samsung only.

I have a Samsung HLN DLP and have had no lag problems at all using PS2, GameCube, or XBOX. In fact, I play a fair amount of Dance, Dance, Revolution (a game that lag would absoultely ruin). My Samsung DLP has been awesome and I would highly reccommend it - although do yourself a favor and get an XBOX to take advantage of HD games!

I have a Samsung HLN467 DLP and have seen no lag problems on the Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube. Most of the games I play are at least 480p, so I'm not so sure about 480i only games.

Supposedly, the HLPs have it occur less frequently, but YMMV (according to reports on the forum).
I do not have a PS2, so I cannot try it though.
Good Luck!

Lag is more prevalent on PS2 (than Xbox) because some of PS2 games are in 480i which needs to be converted to 480p/720p for the TV. Xbox, OTOH has alot of games in 480p, so no conversion = no lag.
