LEGO's efforts in reproducing their own projects is very nice. I read some comments of someone who played this at the Toy Fair I think is was, and they said it was actually very impressive for being a LEGO Star Wars game.

It would be cool if they acted like they were made of plastic, and the lego pieces melted when shot or hit with a saber. Otherwise, it looks ok.

You can pick up the pieces and use them to build stuff!

I can't access it at work, but IGN PS2 and probably Xbox as well have a bunch of new screenshots and videos up. This game looks insanely fun and has meaty co-op mode to boot!! Some of the video are scenes from Episodes I & II recreated with Lego figures and ships, good stuff.

I tried the demo on my PC, but the video was all glitchy. I could play it, but it was so annoying I shut it down. I have a decent PC too. I even tried running it in the lowest resolution, and still glitchy.
Oh well...seemed ok, not $50 ok...but ok.

the new issue of Gamepro has a review. They basically say it is a great/fun little game. The only thing they downed was the difficulty. They say it is geared more towards little kids and is in the "easy" category for average to hardcore gamers.
the review says it covers all the major points of Ep. 1-3. That sounds pretty cool. A lego pod race would rock.
So it sounds like a rental or discount rack title for me.

I guess since it's not a Nintendo exclusive it's ok.

I downloaded and played the demo and I can fully recommend it. Well, I'd recommend it if you have friends, I'm not sure how the single player plays and I probably won't. The demo was INSANELY fun. The Lego-isms of the world and characters are well done and the game has a pretty good sense of humor in this regard. For instance, in the opening scene a ship is destroyed and all the little Lego pieces fly everywhere and the two pilots realize they have no seating and fall to the ground, complete with heads and limbs falling off. There's a C3PO robot that follows you around in the demo. You can attack it. Each time you attack it, it loses a limb. If you hack off one of its legs he'll "hobble" around following you hopping around on one leg. The gameplay is simple but in my opinion, simple is good. There seems to be a lot of cool puzzle-like elements involving using other characters abilities to manipulate surroundings.
I really hate reviews that cite a game's length as a negative. It's up there with other weak-minded reviews that focus on how a game looks or how "mature" a game is, rather than how much fun one can have with a game. Oh well, such is the fate of when a hobby becomes an "industry."

Mentioning it's short lets me know that it definitely needs to go on my "pick up when it's $20 or less" list.

Oops, I just reread and saw that the magazine review stated the negative as too easy, not too short. While I do agree a bit and enjoy a level of challenge to my games, in the end it's still the same. The game is too fun to be concerned with length or difficulty.

I try to stay around a $1 an hour on my games, with few exceptions.
I don't have as much money for games as some both due to being poor and having a few other hobbies further up my "spend extra money on list."
