Wow, great news. Thanks.

Also worthy of note:

Looks like I'll be picking up the Superman and Batman sets. TVShowsOnDVD has a small pic of the Batman set. Blue trim this time instead of red.

DAMN!!!!! It's a great time to be an animation geek. I love all these cartoon shows (especially the old school HB stuff), so I'm going to end up buying all of these... and the same day The Man Called Flintstone comes out too. This fourth quarter of 2004 looks to be the MOST EXPENSIVE OF ALL TIME... I just hope I can somehow find the funds to buy all this great stuff that's coming out!

The specs say it's a 2-disc release containing the first 18 episodes (13 from S1 and 5 from S2 I assume). And if you're worried about cramming 18 eps on two discs, I'd bet good money one of those discs is a flipper so 3 sides to hold all the eps.

There are 28 eps in Season 2 (including the World's Finest crossover with Bats), but with 5 taken by Vol. 1, that means 23 are remaining, with another 10 in Season 3 and 3 in Season 4. So essentially, I'd expect another 18 eps in the Vol. 2 set and then the remaining 18 eps in Vol. 3. Makes a perfectly even 3-volume set for all 54 episodes of the series.

Just for the representation of the New Gods alone, it's worth it. I loved the Superman series. Other than the very first season of Batman: TAS, it's the best realization of the DCU in animated form ever.

I also like Katie Holmes.

The tone of Superman is much different, but it's still a solid series. Definitely worth a watch, but to me, not much keeper value.

For those of you who haven't seen Man called Flinstone, you should check it out. Its one of the best animated films of all time. I've always been surprised how few people know about it.

Already have the Batman Vol 1 and it was worth every penny.

I love the Superman show and will be picking it up along with Batman Vol 2.

Both shows styles fit their character perfectly.

How many volumes will they have? and will they include the eps when WB took over or will that be a different set?

Superman was alright but I thought Bats trumps him. But maybe I'm biased. I just can't stand how he has super speed, heat vision, man of steel and still gets beat up by the dumbest things. Maybe it's a character flaw.
