Nip/Tuck - 08/24/04

I just realized that I went to grade school with Kimber (Kelly Carlson). We rode the same school bus and she lived up the block from me (her parents still do).

Yep, MN born and bred...Star Tribune had a story on her during the first season of Nip/Tuck about how much the show has helped her get noticed in Hollywood.
If only you would have known in school (I'm guessing you went to school with her during all of school if she lived up the block) what you know now, eh?

Great episode, much better than last weeks. I didn't expect a lot of what happened which is always a sign of a good episode. Next weeks looks to be even better.

Really good episode. I was just reading last week's thread and although I liked last week's episode, I completely agree with movielib. The last 2 episodes felt like the characters on Nip/Tuck decided to put on a play. The stigmata episode was probably the worst of the series. Nice to see them rebound quickly.

Muy excellente again this week. I'm enjoying this Sean centric storyline (and no John Hemsley). These characters are very cyclical. It's clear that Sean needs people, but he often makes the wrong choices about who to surround himself with (just as he said to Kimber).

I also like it that several more people agree with my opinion regarding the previous two episodes.
I'm extremely pleased that last night's episode was a return to Nippish/Tuckish normalcy.

Well I loved this episode and last episode - not every episode needs to be cut from the same mold.
The minute they showed Julia prettying (aka whoring ) herself up, it was evident where that was going. Great scene though.

I do have to say that it seems like they're just trying to do the craziest stuff they can.
Sex with a doll, requests for female on male anal with a strap-on, and man-boobs
turning a woman into a lesbian all in one episode!? Seem like a bit much. But still,
it's so well written and preformed, that I can suspend my disbelief a lot easier than,
say, with something like 24.
Sean needs to be repeatedly kicked in the cock. He's now slept
with two woman while married, one of which he helped to commit
suicide. Does he really think he's got the moral high ground? At least
Julia screwed Christian before they were married, and many years ago.

I agree with you about Sean. I seriously think he's become an ass. He had some right to be upset but he's way overdoing it. Julia doesn't deserve as bad as he's giving her.

One thing I liked about this episode is that the first half felt a little more comedic than normal. Then, I think the tone shift during the real doll scene made that scene even more disturbing then it would be normally. I was surprised they used the real doll name. I just went over to the site to see if they mentioned it and it says, "Watch a Real Doll's acting debut!"

I wonder how much business "Real Doll" got after getting to see Sean have his way with one of them?
What did that guy call the thing in the briefcase? Chocolate Thunder? Zoinks!
Sean is definitely letting "Mean Sean" out to play for the time being.
Man Boobs was a little disconcerting, but it was funny they didn't blur out his exposed nipples after the implants.

Patman, your posts are identical on both Home theatre forum and here. Cant you come up with something a bit different to say?
I guess it's ok for Sean to screw around and have affairs but Julia does it and she is punished by almost being raped, having to lock herself in a bathroom and call her husband and then have cash thrown in her face to humiliate her even more. And to think this was written by a woman.
Not one of the better episodes in my opinion.

The whole Sean having sex with the doll thing was obvious, and I was cringing before and during it. It was obvious because it was shocking and that is all this show really does. Though this ep was Matt-less which is always good. The actor that plays him is like nearing 30 and playing 16.
