Censored on the forum, yet it still gets used in Kim's review of Without A Paddle (http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=12030). Kim even goes one worse and says "fags".
So reviewers can use potentially offensive terms to illustrate a point, but woe to those who do the same in the forum?

No big deal, instead of that word just use the less-offensive "Motherfucker."

If she had more talent it could be offensive. But a gun in the hand of a moron is still a gun you can dumbass slap out of their hand.

I think you are missing the point of DonnachaOne's post. If I'm reading it correctly, the point is that the review uses those terms (in a perfectly fine, non-offensive way). Yet if we try to do the same in the forums, we're censored. It's the double-standard within the same site (DVDTalk -- reviews vs. forum) that is being pointed out.
There's nothing to "forgive" Kim for... she did nothing wrong in her review. (A pretty good one, at that.)

And people with mothers. If your mother died say during childbirth, then that could be a problem.

I don't know. She's got kind of a strung-out, underfed Kim Kelly look. If you're into that.

I don't see how it's any different than the comments WhoGirl might get, or the short jokes ElScorcho gets, or comments about how I look in a suit; she may be a respected member of the staff, but that also makes her a respected member of this board too, and all that that implies.

So, "fags" is worse on the insult scale than 'Ho<nothing>mo" ? Hmm.. you learn something new every day. I would have thought it was the other way around.
And you're right. We should be allowed to say the same content on the forum that is allowed on the site. I believe the logic behind banning those words is that they can only be used in a negative context. Like a$$hole. Odds are you aren't gonna be talking about a real physical a$$hole, you're probably calling someone that. Like Bandoman. What an assh...
Anyway, I don't agree with it...I'm just reitterating what I heard before. I think you should be able to say 'fags' and 'ho-mo' simply on the fact that they have an innocent meaning, too. Like when I buy milk at the store and the abbreviation on the receipt says 'ho-mo milk.' Hehehe.. I always get a snicker out of that.

I'll take the argument about letting loose more of the censored words on the forum under advisement.
