DVD Talk review of 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

I read David Walker's DVD review of Jesus Christ Superstar at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=12025 and...
I really appreciate David because he is a true lover of this movie, as am I. It changed my life when I saw it at the age of 11. The review makes me all the more excited to see Ted Neeley's commentary on the new special edition release. There are questions we fans have been wondering about for years that we hope Ted answers...and it will be important to hear him talk about Carl Anderson (RIP)...as we all mourn his loss.
Thanx so much, David! Well done!

So the old version is non-anamorphic widescreen with DD 5.0 and the newer version is anamorphic widescreen with 2.0 Stereo.

Which is the better version?

I absolutely love this musical... but to me the movie was a crashing bore and a terrible adaptation that did nothing interesting with the material at all. And I like Ted Neely a lot too... but in this film I think the cross he was put on at the end had more charisma. I was just incredibly disappointed.

Just my opinion though, LOL.

Don't know; I only have the old one, which does have rather shoddy picture quality from what I remember...
