Strange ESPN occurrence

I use Dallas in my franchise mode (ducks) and I ran for over 100 yards in a game with Eddie George by the middle of the 4th quarter, but a few plays later it said I only had 80 yards.

Did you throw any passes to him behind the line of scrimage for a loss during the game?

No. It gave me the" ran for over 100 yds in a game "message, and then on my next carry a few plays later, it said I had 80 yards rushing. Strange.

maybe it was "ran for over 100 yds in a game" as a team, vs individual. I thought the same thing when I noticed it in a game I was playing, but it was the team total over 100 yds.

No, it was just George because I only ran with him in the game.

Yes that would count, but not against George individually. It's just a strange little glitch that I hope doesn't happen again. I wanted to know if this has happened to anyone else.

This could be the problem. The Dreaded clipping bug. It has been fixed with wednesday patch. The description comes from ESPN FAQ on ESPNVIDEOGAMES.COM.

(NEW)8. There is a flaw with the stats. I notice that every time there's a clipping penalty, etc. you are penalized the 15 yards and you also get the 15 yards taken away from your stats. Penalties don't take off yards you previously had.

I don't recall a penalty of any kind. Like I said. it was only 2 or 3 plays later it was different.

Yep, I noticed the flaw too. On a chop block or block in the back. If your RB is rushing, they WILL take the 15 yards away from him. Kinda sucks, but get used to it until they fix it.

To make sure I understand this, you mean if you have 100 yds, run for 10 but get it called back on an illegal block it drops the RBs total to 90 rather than leaving it at 100. Correct?

It has (reportedly) been fixed with the latest patch. See Apollo's post above.

So, are you saying that the patch DOES NOT actually fix the clipping bug?

There was a "You must downlaod a update before logging into" message on 8/18, when you started NFL2K5 on that day.

Re: Strange ESPN occurrence

I am getting an issue in my Franchise Season with Dallas also. This involves substitutions. It replaces my starting QB & RB with the 2nd stringers. It will allow me to substitute the correct QB, but it will not allow me to put the correct RB in for the I-pro formation.

Any ideas?

THANKS!

I've got a question... Is there a season mode like in all the prior years or is it all in "Franchise" ... I started a franchise mode but the schedule does not match the actual one this year? Am I not getting something?

I've got an entirely different problem. I had 13 wins and no losses in on-line play. I didn't play for a week. I log in tonight and go to play and lo and behold my record was now 0-0, as if I've never played online. So I finish playing the guy and look and now my record was 1-0. Their servers lost all of my stats, everything was reset to 0 and I was ranked under 1000. What the hell happened and has anyone else had that happen.

I think I might just suck but when I played on Live last night, my opponent would let one of his defensive linemen move to the right and he would always sack me. My linemen couldn't even touch him, he'd just go straight to me and I don't have time to pass the ball. How do you counter it?
