Bad Comedy Movie Trailer Music - What's that song?

You've heard it on every single BAAAAD comedy movie trailer since about 1992. I know for a fact that it's featured in the "Trial and Error" and "Bowfinger" trailers...

It often pops up at the half-way point, usually after a record scratch sound effect, silence, and the execution of a weak joke.

HEY HEY HEY HEY!

HEY HEY HEY HEY HEY!

Ahhhhhhhh yeah!

eg. "This summer, NASA's engineers are sending their top man into space. But this time.... *record scratch* "Who stole my banana?" -cue monkey in space suit manically clapping his hands together and screeching-

HEY HEY HEY HEY!!

Undoubtably you have been one of the many poe-faced individuals sitting in the dark theatre while this "hilarious" "upbeat" music plays to an unresponsive crowd.

What is it called? Does anyone know the name of it? I want to get a copy of it for myself... but I'm having a hell of a time tracking it down.

Thanks!

According to SoundtrackNET it's:

"Scatter & Swing" - Lionrock

But it and I could be wrong.

Any other specific trailers you remember it from (even if you're not sure)?

I can "imagine" it being in "Bringing down the House" - and it will probably be in the "Weekend at Bernies 3" trailer...

But here's the link to the Trial and Error trailer, where they have abused and looped the hell out of it for a good 2 minutes...

Edited to add: It's also in a 12-bar blues format, if that helps... (which it doesn't)

I knew exactly what song you're referring to just by reading the thread title, unfortunately I also have no idea what it is.

I know exactly what song you are referring to as well, but couldn't think of what it is - best bet would be to think of a film that it appears IN and search the soundtrack of that film in imdb.

All signs point to... NO

Roy Head and the Traits - Treat her Right

The only lyrics are "HEY HEY HEY HEY" - and perhaps the occasional "Awww, yeah!" depending on the length of the trailer. And it's not the BOMB BOMB - CHICKA - CHICK-HAAAAAA Ferris Bueller song either...

I believe it's "Treat Her Right" from the Commitments, though.

Hah!! That's it!! Thank you FinkPish and K Tm S! It's definately the Commitments version though...

That Ballroom Dancing website is pretty cool too...

Cheers lads! I would never have gotten it without your help. I even have a copy of that soundtrack somewhere too... but I don't remember it being on there at all. The only things I can think of when I hear that song are orangutans, pratfalls and Michael Richards frantically mugging at the camera; which is too bad because it's a pretty good soundtrack.
