Anyone else think this movie main charactor could be based on George W. Bush, kinda like how Primary Colours was with Clinton?
Or is it just me...

Well... it's pretty much been established by Sayles himself that that is indeed the entire point of the Pilager character.
Sadly, the movie as a whole was pretty shrug-worthy; not horrible, but not particularly good either.
The breathtaking LIMBO continues to be Sayles' best film.

I'm going to a screening of this tonight. Looking forward to it.

Got back from the screening and was somewhat disappointed in this movie. The basis for the film revolves around a gubernatorial candidate who is played with thickheaded gusto by Chris Cooper (who is a hoot to watch) and about the shady maneuvering and backslapping that goes on behind the scenes of a political campaign isn't all that intriguing. What I liked best was the impressive ensemble cast, but not one of Sayles' better films. 2 stars (out of 4)
